Role purpose

Lead university-wide career services, employer engagement, internships and placement outcomes across schools and campuses.

Role purposeThe position provides strategic and operational leadership for Amity University’s university-wide placement and career development function. The role builds sustained partnerships with employers, supports students and academic teams to prepare for changing workforce needs, and creates a consistent, transparent process for internships, campus recruitment and career outcomes across disciplines and campuses.

Key responsibilities· University placement strategy: Set the annual and multi-year strategy, priorities and operating calendar in consultation with university leadership, campus teams, schools and academic leaders.

· Employer partnerships: Build and maintain relationships with companies, public-sector organisations, start-ups, qualified bodies and alumni; understand their talent needs and convert engagement into internships, projects, recruitment opportunities and other career pathways.

· Campus recruitment: Lead the end-to-end recruitment cycle, including employer outreach, role intake, eligibility coordination, pre-placement talks, interview schedules, offers, joining follow-up and issue resolution.

· Student readiness: Oversee career preparation in partnership with schools and faculty, including career guidance, communication and interview skills, aptitude preparation, professional conduct,



portfolio development and access to practical experience.

· Internships and experiential learning: Expand quality internship, live-project, apprenticeship and work-integrated learning opportunities; coordinate with academic teams to align opportunities with programme requirements where applicable.

· Employer and student experience: Establish service standards and clear processes for employers, students and campus placement teams; address concerns fairly and promptly and promote equitable access to opportunities.

· Leadership and coordination: Lead, develop and support placement professionals across campuses; clarify responsibilities, share effective practices and coordinate university-wide activity while responding to local industry needs.

· Data, reporting and improvement: Maintain reliable placement and internship records; report participation, offers, compensation where disclosed, recruiter engagement, role quality, acceptance and joining outcomes, and other approved indicators. Use the data to improve service and strategy.

· Governance and risk: Ensure placement activity follows university policies, applicable law, student privacy requirements and appropriate standards for employer verification, communications, data handling and outcome reporting.

· Budget and resources: Develop and manage the placement function’s budget,



technology and other resources; assess the value and effectiveness of events, platforms and partnerships.

· Reputation and outreach: Represent the university at employer forums, recruitment events and relevant industry or education networks; work with communications and alumni teams to share verified outcomes and strengthen the university’s employer reputation.

Leadership scopeThe position leads the central placements function and coordinates with campus placement offices, schools, faculty, student services, alumni relations and university leadership. The role is expected to build a collaborative, service-oriented team and establish common standards that work across a diverse, multi-campus university.

Qualifications and experience· Postgraduate degree in a relevant discipline; a bachelor’s degree with substantial relevant leadership experience may be considered.

· Significant progressive experience in university placements, career services, talent acquisition, employer relations or a closely related field, including experience leading teams and institution-wide or multi-site programmes.

· A strong record of developing employer partnerships and translating them into internships, recruitment opportunities or other measurable career outcomes.

· Experience using placement, recruitment or student-outcome data to plan, monitor performance and improve services.

· Understanding of higher education environments, student development and the needs of employers across varied disciplines.

· Excellent communication, negotiation, presentation and stakeholder-management skills; sound judgement, discretion and a commitment to fair and inclusive access.
