- This is an early morning field-based role (6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.).

Sample
Collection (Venipuncture)
- Perform accurate and safe venipuncture (and capillary puncture when needed) to collect blood samples from patients of all age groups in a camp setting.
- Identify patients accurately using multiple identifiers before sample collection.
- Strictly adhere to aseptic techniques and infection control protocols.
- Explain the collection procedure clearly and calmly to alleviate patient anxiety.
- Manage difficult collections with patience and professional skill.
2. Labeling &
- Identification
- Meticulously label all collected blood tubes immediately after draw.
- Ensure every label includes correct patient name, unique ID, date, and time of collection, using the proper color-coded vacuum tubes.
- Cross-verify the labeling against the patient’s test requisition forms and consent forms.
- Verify that barcodes (if applicable) are scanned and correctly associated with the patient’s information.
3. Packing &
- Dispatch Logistics
- Carefully prepare all collected samples for transport to the central laboratory.
- Organize tubes in sample racks and transport bags according to protocol.
- strictly enforce and monitor cold chain maintenance; ensure samples are kept in temperature-controlled transport boxes with ice packs.
- Complete necessary handover documentation (sample manifest) for dispatch.
4. Camp Operations &
- Safety
- Assist in setting up the phlebotomy station at the camp site before operation.
- Maintain a sterile and organized workspace; manage inventory of collection supplies (syringes, tubes, gloves, etc.).
- Properly segregate and dispose of all biomedical waste (sharps, contaminated cotton, etc.) according to regulatory guidelines.
- Report any adverse patient reactions, equipment malfunctions, or collection difficulties to the Operations Manager immediately.
Required Qualifications &
- Skills
- Education:
- Essential: Certified DMLT (Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology) or BMLT (Bachelor’s in Medical Laboratory Technology).
- Experience:
- Minimum 1-2 years of clinical phlebotomy experience.
- Prior experience in field collection or managing blood collection at camps is highly desirable.
- Technical Skills: High proficiency in various venipuncture techniques; solid knowledge of color-coded vacuum tubes and their correct order of draw.
- Aseptic Technique: Demonstrated commitment to sterile procedures and infection control.
- Communication: Fluent in Hindi and English. Knowledge of Marathi is a significant advantage. Ability to communicate with empathy and clarity.
- Punctuality: Highly reliable and disciplined with early morning shift starts (6:00 a.m.).
