We are looking for Peer Review Coordinator for Mumbai Location.

PRC is a service provided to journal publishers to ensure manuscripts submitted to their journals do not stall in peer review due to a lack of completed reviewer reports. As a Peer Review Coordinator, your main responsibility will be to own the full lifecycle of assigned RQE submissions, from intake through delivery. You will determine each manuscript's focus, select and contact qualified reviewers, monitor and follow up on late or poor-quality reviews, and deliver completed reviews to journal editors through the journal's editorial system.

Key Responsibilities

- Manuscript Intake & Assignment: Process new RQE submissions, capturing manuscript details and files from journal invitations.
- Reviewer Identification & Solicitation: Search for and invite qualified reviewers whose expertise matches the manuscript's subject matter, sending multiple invitations where needed to secure a reviewer.
- Submission-Type Judgment: Apply the correct reviewer-selection approach across submission types, including re-engaging a manuscript's original reviewer where required.
- Review Monitoring & Reviewer Support: Track reviewers who have accepted to ensure reviews are returned in a timely manner and respond to reviewer queries, when required.
- Quality Control & Approval: Review completed reports to confirm they critically assess the science of the manuscript (not just language or formatting)



before approval; where a review is paused for QC, contact the reviewer and decide to approve or return for re-solicitation.
- Delivery: Submit approved reviews to the journal's editorial system.
- Communication & Coverage: Communicate proactively with your manager and teammates on delays or issues; maintain professional communication with reviewers and journal editorial teams.

Desired Qualifications

- Masters or higher degree in Clinical/Life Sciences, Physical Sciences, or Engineering
- Familiarity with peer review, editorial workflows, or scholarly publishing is a solid plus; prior experience evaluating or coordinating manuscript reviews is an added advantage.
- Strong interpersonal and written communication skills for coordinating across reviewers and editorial teams, including teammates and reviewers across multiple time zones.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented, able to manage a daily caseload against strict SLAs across intake, solicitation, approvals, and delivery queues.
- Sound judgment for reviewer selection and quality-control decisions, including recognizing when a review needs to be returned for re-solicitation.
- 0 to 3 years of experience, preferably in peer review services, journal editorial office (JEO) services, or scholarly publishing operations.
