– Nutra Formulator

Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled and result-oriented Nutra Formulator to join our R&D; team. The candidate will be responsible for developing, optimizing, and scaling up nutraceutical formulations across multiple dosage and delivery formats.

The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in formulation development, ingredient evaluation, product optimization, stability studies, scale-up activities, and nutraceutical manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities

1. Formulation Development

- Design and develop new nutraceutical and dietary supplement formulations.
- Develop formulations across various delivery systems, including:Tablets, Capsules, Powders, Liquids, Effervescent products
- Select suitable active ingredients, excipients, flavors, colors, and other formulation components.
- Conduct laboratory trials and prepare prototypes for recent product development.

2. Formulation Optimization & Testing

- Optimize existing formulations to improve product performance, stability, solubility, bioavailability, and taste.
- Conduct formulation trials and evaluate prototypes.
- Support taste-masking and palatability improvement activities where required.
- Plan and monitor stability studies and analyze formulation performance.
- Troubleshoot formulation-related issues and implement appropriate corrective actions.

3. Raw Material & Ingredient Evaluation

- Evaluate and select suitable raw materials for product development.
- Assess the compatibility and functionality of:

Botanical extracts, Vitamins and minerals, Amino acids, Herbal ingredients, Functional ingredients, Excipients
- Review technical specifications and relevant documentation for ingredients.
- Coordinate with Quality, Purchase, and other departments for ingredient evaluation and approval.

4. Process Development & Scale-Up

- Conduct formulation development batches and laboratory trials.
- Handle scale-up activities from laboratory/pilot scale to commercial production.




- Support pilot plant trials and process optimization.
- Assist in technology transfer from R&D; to the production team.
- Provide technical support during manufacturing trials and resolve formulation/process-related issues.

5. Documentation & Regulatory Compliance

- Prepare and maintain formulation and product development documentation.
- Prepare and review:
- Batch Manufacturing Records (BMR)
- Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Product development reports
- Trial and evaluation reports
- Stability study documentation
- Master formulas/specifications
- Ensure formulation and development activities comply with GMP and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Maintain proper records of formulation trials, changes, observations, and results.

6. Cross-Functional Coordination

- Coordinate with Production, Quality Control, Quality Assurance, Regulatory, Purchase, and other relevant departments.
- Provide technical inputs during product development, scale-up, and commercialization.
- Support investigation and resolution of formulation-related production issues.

Education & Qualifications

- B.Pharm / M.Pharm (Pharmaceutics) preferred.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in:
- Food Technology / Food Science
- Biotechnology
- Biochemistry

Experience & Skills

- 2+ years of hands-on experience in nutraceutical R&D;, formulation development, or a related field.
- Practical knowledge of nutraceutical dosage forms and formulation techniques.
- Good understanding of raw materials, active ingredients, excipients, and their compatibility.
- Experience in formulation optimization, stability studies, and scale-up activities.
- Knowledge of GMP and nutraceutical manufacturing requirements.
- Good documentation and analytical skills.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
- Good communication and coordination skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
