The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in design, development, design calculations, FEA analysis, prototype validation and product improvement, preferably in heavy machinery industry.

Key Responsibilities:

- Benchmarking and Concept Generation: Drive the benchmarking process for identifying areas for product improvement and the generation of creative design concepts that enhance performance, cost-effectiveness, and manufacturability.

- Prototype Validation: Oversee the prototype validation process to ensure product designs meet performance, durability, and safety standards before full-scale production.

- Design Calculations: Perform and oversee design calculations, ensuring the safety, reliability, and functionality of products. This includes calculations for structural integrity, thermal, and mechanical performance.

- FEA Analysis: Finite Element Analysis (FEA) for critical parts to validate design concepts, ensuring that the products meet the required mechanical and structural specifications.

- Design Concept Review: Regularly check and review design concepts, ensuring that the designs are optimal, manufacturable, and aligned with business goals. Release approved designs for production.

- Design/Cost Improvement: Identify and implement opportunities for design and cost improvements, optimizing the product development process, and ensuring the cost efficiency of new designs.

- Pre-Sales Technical Support:



Participate in pre-sales technical meetings to assist the sales team in understanding customer requirements, providing technical support, and defining product specifications.

- Collaboration with Electrical Design Team: Work closely with the Electrical Design Team to integrate electrical components and systems into mechanical designs, ensuring seamless integration of multi-disciplinary aspects in product development.

Competency Required

- Proficiency in 2D and 3D CAD Tools: Strong knowledge of CREO, AUTOCAD, and INVENTOR for designing and modelling products.

- Standards Knowledge: Familiarity with National and international design standards such as BIS, ISO, DIN, ASME, JIS and CE for product compliance.

- SAP / PLM Software: Knowledge of SAP and PLM systems for managing product lifecycle and design data.

- FEA Tools Knowledge: Expertise in FEA tools, particularly ANSYS, for validating and optimizing mechanical and structural components.

- Communication & Interpersonal Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective interaction with clients, stakeholders, and internal teams.

- Education: B.E or M.E in Mechanical Engineering. (Preferably postgraduate)

- Experience: 15 to 20 years of experience in mechanical design and product development, specifically within the heavy machinery or machine building industries.
