Job Title: M5 Data Architect - Microsoft Fabric, Enterprise Ontology & Data Management

Job Summary

HGS is seeking an accomplished, hands-on M5 Data Architect with 12-15 years of relevant experience to lead the design and implementation of an enterprise-scale data platform on Microsoft Fabric. The role will establish scalable data architecture, enterprise ontology, governed data products, and AI-ready semantic models across Finance, HR, Project Operations, Customer, Vendor, and other enterprise domains. The successful candidate will combine strategic architecture leadership with strong technical delivery, governance, stakeholder management, and mentoring capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

- Define and govern enterprise data architecture strategy, standards, reference patterns, and implementation roadmap.
- Architect Microsoft Fabric solutions using OneLake, Lakehouse, Warehouse, Data Factory, Data Pipelines, Dataflow Gen2, notebooks, Delta Lake, and semantic models.
- Establish reusable Bronze, Silver, and Gold medallion patterns covering ingestion, transformation, incremental loading, reconciliation, monitoring, recovery, and data quality.
- Design and govern the Enterprise Ontology Framework, including business glossary, taxonomy, synonyms, KPI catalog, data dictionary, and source-to-enterprise concept mappings.
- Deliver certified Gold data products and semantic models for Power BI, Microsoft Copilot, Fabric Data Agents, executive reporting, and governed self-service analytics.
- Define enterprise data management standards for metadata, lineage, ownership, stewardship, classification, master/reference data, quality, and lifecycle management.
- Architect integration patterns for Dynamics 365 F&O;, Project Operations, Dataverse, and enterprise applications using OData, APIs, change tracking, DMF, and pipeline-driven integration.
- Establish security controls using Microsoft Entra ID, workspace isolation, RBAC, RLS,



OLS, CLS, masking, sensitivity labels, and audit monitoring.
- Lead architecture reviews and partner with business owners, data stewards, engineering, analytics, security, governance, and executive stakeholders.
- Mentor architects and engineers while remaining actively involved in solution design, prototyping, technical reviews, troubleshooting, and delivery assurance.

Required Skills & Qualifications

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related discipline.
- 12-15 years of relevant experience in data architecture, data engineering, enterprise data management, and large-scale platform delivery.
- Demonstrated hands-on experience designing and implementing enterprise solutions on Microsoft Fabric.
- Robust expertise in OneLake, Lakehouse, Warehouse, Fabric Data Factory, Pipelines, Dataflow Gen2, notebooks, Delta Lake, semantic models, Power BI, SQL, Spark SQL, and PySpark.
- Proven expertise in dimensional modeling, star schemas, medallion architecture, enterprise ontology, taxonomy, semantic mapping, KPI definition, and metadata frameworks.
- Strong knowledge of data governance, quality, lineage, stewardship, classification, master data management, privacy, security, and lifecycle controls.
- Ability to translate complex business requirements into scalable architecture, reusable platforms, governed data products, and AI-ready semantic models.
- Excellent leadership, stakeholder management, communication, architecture governance, problem-solving, and mentoring skills.

Preferred Skills (Nice to Have)

- Experience integrating Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations, Project Operations, or Dataverse with Microsoft Fabric.
- Exposure to Microsoft Purview, Fabric Data Agents, Microsoft Copilot, responsible AI enablement, and multi-country or multi-entity enterprise data platforms.
- Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Engineering, Power BI, or data architecture certifications.
