Middleware Support Engineer (Apache, Tomcat, JBoss Linux)

This is a six day work week role.

Role Overview

We are looking for a proactive and technically skilled Middleware Support Engineer with 4-5 years of experience in middleware application support and administration. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the stability, availability, and performance of critical middleware environments supporting enterprise applications.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on expertise in Apache HTTP Server, Apache Tomcat, JBoss, and Linux, with a strong focus on monitoring, troubleshooting, incident management, log analysis, and performance optimization. You will work closely with application teams, infrastructure teams, and external vendors to maintain a secure, scalable, and highly available middleware ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities

- Install, configure, administer, and support Apache HTTP Server,



Apache Tomcat, and JBoss environments.
- Create and manage multiple Apache HTTP Server instances and clustering configurations.
- Perform proactive monitoring of middleware infrastructure to ensure high availability and performance.
- Analyze Apache, Tomcat, and JBoss logs to identify and resolve application and infrastructure issues.
- Troubleshoot application outages, performance bottlenecks, and middleware-related incidents.
- Install, configure, and maintain JBoss plugins and associated integrations.
- Manage application resources and server configurations based on business requirements.
- Conduct performance tuning and optimization activities across middleware platforms.
- Handle incident, service request, and problem management activities through ticketing systems.
- Coordinate with OEMs and vendors for issue resolution, maintenance, and support activities.
- Maintain middleware security, reliability, and operational documentation.
- Support production deployments, configuration changes, and workplace maintenance activities.

Required Skills Experience

- 4-5 years of hands-on experience in Middleware/Application Support.
- Strong experience with:
- Apache HTTP Server
- Apache Tomcat
- JBoss / JBoss EAP
- Linux (RHEL/CentOS/Unix)
- Experience in Apache clustering and multiple instance creation.
- Strong troubleshooting and log analysis capabilities.
- Experience in middleware monitoring and performance management.
- Understanding of server administration, configuration management, and deployment processes.
- Knowledge of incident and change management processes.
- Experience with ticketing tools such as ServiceNow, Remedy, Jira, or similar.
- Good understanding of application architecture and web technologies.
