Primary Responsibilities:

- Develop, customize, and optimize Shopify themes, including Online Store 2.0 themes, based on project requirements.
- Implement Shopify apps, extensions, and third-party integrations to enhance store functionality and business workflows.
- Develop and maintain custom Shopify apps using Liquid, HTML, CSS, JavaScript/TypeScript, Shopify APIs, and modern app development frameworks.
- Work extensively with Shopify GraphQL Admin API and Storefront API for custom integrations, automation, and data-driven solutions.
- Implement Shopify Functions, Checkout Extensions, Theme App Extensions, Admin UI Extensions, and other Shopify extension capabilities where required.
- Troubleshoot and resolve Shopify store, app, integration, and performance-related issues, including storefront speed and Core Web Vitals optimization.
- Collaborate with UI/UX designers, project managers, QA, and stakeholders to deliver seamless and high-performing eCommerce experiences.
- Work on Shopify Plus projects, including advanced theme customizations, checkout extensibility, Shopify Functions, API-based solutions, automation, and enterprise-level integrations.
- Develop and maintain headless commerce solutions using Shopify Storefront API, Hydrogen, and modern React-based technologies when required.
- Stay updated with Shopify platform updates, API changes, development best practices, eCommerce trends, and upcoming/deprecated Shopify features.

Technical Requirements

- Robust proficiency in Liquid, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript/TypeScript, JSON, and modern frontend development practices.
- Strong experience with Shopify GraphQL Admin API and Storefront API; knowledge of REST Admin API and migration from legacy implementations is an added advantage.
- Experience with Shopify app development, Shopify CLI, webhooks, authentication, API integrations, and app extensions.
- Hands-on knowledge of Shopify theme customization, Online Store 2.0, sections, blocks, metafields,



metaobjects, and theme performance optimization.
- Experience with Shopify Functions and Shopify Extensions, including checkout, discounts, payment, delivery, cart, or other relevant extension capabilities.
- Knowledge of Shopify Plus features, checkout extensibility, Shopify Flow, B2B capabilities, Markets, and enterprise-level customizations.
- Handle backend development using Laravel, Node.js, or other backend technologies as needed for Shopify applications and integrations.
- Experience with third-party integrations, payment gateways, shipping solutions, ERP/CRM integrations, and other eCommerce services.
- Understanding of SEO best practices, structured data, technical SEO, Core Web Vitals, and performance optimization for Shopify stores.
- Experience with Git version control, GitHub/GitLab, Shopify CLI, and modern development/collaboration workflows.
- Strong understanding of API security, authentication, webhooks, error handling, rate limits, and scalable integration architecture.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and handle client-facing technical discussions.

Frameworks and Tools:

- Experience with Shopify Plus.
- Experience with Shopify CLI, Shopify Functions, Checkout UI Extensions, Theme App Extensions, Admin UI Extensions, and Shopify Flow.
- Strong understanding of GraphQL, Shopify GraphQL Admin API, and Storefront API.
- Familiarity with React.js, TypeScript, Next.js, React Router, or other modern front-end frameworks.
- Knowledge of Headless Commerce, Shopify Hydrogen, and modern React-based Shopify storefront development.
- Familiarity with Shopify Polaris and App Bridge for Shopify app/admin interface development.
- Knowledge of Shopify metafields, metaobjects, webhooks, customer accounts, Markets, and advanced Shopify APIs.
- Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools and modern Shopify developer tooling is an added advantage.
