MEP Design Engineer

About the Role

We are looking for a technically strong and detail-oriented MEP Design Engineer with hands-on experience in MEP design, technical drawings, detailing, coordination, and project documentation. The candidate should be capable of developing MEP designs from concept/design stage through detailed technical documentation, with a positive understanding of building services, construction practices, and relevant standards.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop MEP layouts, drawings, schematics, and detailed design documentation .
- Prepare accurate technical and construction drawings based on project requirements.
- Develop detailed MEP designs and working drawings for residential and commercial projects.
- Coordinate MEP designs with architectural and structural requirements .
- Review drawings for accuracy, constructability, dimensions, and technical compliance .
- Prepare GA drawings, layouts, schedules, specifications, and technical documentation .
- Carry out relevant engineering calculations and design checks .
- Interpret project requirements and develop practical and technically feasible MEP solutions .
- Coordinate with architects, structural engineers, BIM teams, and other project stakeholders.
- Identify and resolve design clashes, coordination issues, and technical discrepancies .
- Ensure designs comply with applicable UK building regulations, standards, and project specifications .
- Work on revisions based on consultant/client feedback and maintain proper drawing records.
- Support project teams during the design development and technical documentation stages .




- Maintain quality and consistency across all MEP project deliverables.

Technical Skills Required

- Strong proficiency in AutoCAD – essential.
- Valuable working knowledge of Revit MEP.
- Knowledge of Navisworks and BIM coordination is an advantage.
- Strong understanding of MEP / Building Services Design .
- Good knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and building services systems , depending on the candidate's discipline.
- Strong understanding of MEP detailing and construction techniques .
- Knowledge of UK building regulations and relevant standards/codes will be highly preferred.
- Ability to read and coordinate Architectural, Structural, and MEP drawings .
- Good knowledge of building services, materials, equipment, and construction methods .
- Strong understanding of MEP layouts, schematics, sections, details, and technical documentation .

Preferred Candidate

- Degree / Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Building Services Engineering , or an equivalent qualification.
- 2–5 years of relevant MEP / Building Services design experience .
- Candidates with experience working on UK projects will be preferred.
- Strong technical design, drawing, detailing, and coordination capabilities .
- Hands-on experience with AutoCAD and Revit MEP .
- Experience in residential, commercial, industrial, or other building projects.
- Good communication and coordination skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple project deliverables.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Technically strong candidates with genuine hands-on MEP design experience are highly preferred.
