– Medical Transcriptionist

Key Responsibilities

Transcribe doctors’ dictated notes, consultations, procedures, discharge summaries, operative notes, and other medical records accurately.

Review and edit transcribed documents for grammar, spelling, medical terminology, and completeness.

Ensure patient information and clinical details are documented correctly.

Maintain confidentiality and privacy of patient and hospital information.

Coordinate with doctors and clinical teams to clarify incomplete or unclear information when required.

Maintain proper formatting and documentation standards across medical records.

Complete transcription work within defined turnaround times.

Ensure documentation is updated accurately in the hospital/clinical system.

Identify inconsistencies or missing information and escalate them to the concerned healthcare professional.

Follow hospital policies, documentation protocols, and applicable patient-data confidentiality requirements.

Qualifications & Skills





Graduate/Diploma in Medical Transcription, Life Sciences, Allied Health Sciences, or a related field.

Good understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, procedures, and medications.

Excellent English listening, grammar, spelling, and written communication skills.

Positive typing speed with a high level of accuracy.

Strong attention to detail and ability to identify documentation errors.

Ability to understand different accents and medical dictations.

Good computer skills and familiarity with hospital information systems/EMR software is preferred.

Ability to maintain strict confidentiality while handling sensitive patient information.

Experience

2-3 years of experience in medical transcription or clinical documentation is mandatory.
