Role Description The Medical Coding CPC intern will support the accurate coding of medical procedures, diagnoses, and services using current CPT, ICD, and HCPCS guidelines. Day-to-day responsibilities include reviewing clinical documentation, assigning appropriate codes, verifying coding accuracy, and assisting in maintaining compliance with regulatory and payer requirements. The intern will collaborate with senior coders and training staff, participate in coding audits, and help prepare coding summaries and reports.





This is an internship role designed to build practical skills, with structured guidance and feedback. The position is in office and based in Tiruchirappalli, providing close mentorship and exposure to real-time healthcare documentation and coding workflows.

Qualifications

- Robust foundation in medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology, with the ability to interpret clinical documentation accurately.
- Knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding systems, and an understanding of basic reimbursement and billing processes.
- Attention to detail, analytical thinking, and the ability to identify discrepancies or missing information in medical records.
- Proficiency with computers and office software (e.g., MS Office, electronic health record systems) and willingness to learn new tools.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a training-focused, team environment.
- Relevant coursework or certification in medical coding (CPC or equivalent in progress or completed) is preferred.
- Ability to work on-site in Tiruchirappalli and commit to the full duration of the internship program.
