JOB SUMMARY:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and driven Mechanical Draftsman based in Bengaluru to play a pivotal role in the design and development of advanced satellite bus structures and critical subsystems.

In this capacity, you will serve as a vital bridge between high-level engineering concepts and physical manufacturing, translating complex requirements into exact, space-grade technical documentation. Operating within a collaborative, fast-moving engineering environment, you will be responsible for building, refining, and managing comprehensive 3D models and 2D manufacturing packages using Autodesk Inventor. Your work will directly impact mission success by ensuring that all components meet stringent aerospace standards for reliability, fit, and performance, while owning the accuracy of bills of materials and drawing revisions from initial prototype to final assembly.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:





- Create and update complex 3D CAD models and detailed sub-assemblies using Autodesk Inventor.
- Prepare precise 2D manufacturing and assembly drawings incorporating rigorous GD&T; (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) standards and tight tolerances.
- Generate and manage comprehensive Bills of Materials (BOMs), exploded views, and critical interface drawings.
- Implement engineering change orders, track design modifications, and maintain strict version control across all drawing revisions.
- Coordinate closely with mechanical design and manufacturing teams to provide drawing clarification and ensure seamless production workflows.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR ?

- Diploma or Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering.
- 2 to 5 years of professional drafting experience, ideally within the aerospace or precision mechanical industries.
- Strong, mandatory proficiency in Autodesk Inventor for 3D modeling and 2D detailing.
- Solid understanding of mechanical drawing standards, GD&T;, and tolerance stack-ups.
- Proven hands-on experience detailing machined and sheet metal parts alongside a strong grasp of modern manufacturing and assembly practices.

PREFERRED / NICE-TO-HAVE SKILLS:

- Prior exposure to aerospace or satellite hardware development.
- Familiarity with lightweight structures and space-grade components.
