Role Summary:

We are looking for a Manual Software Tester / QA Engineer to work on software applications used in semiconductor equipment and manufacturing environments.

The candidate will be responsible for understanding software requirements, preparing test scenarios and test cases, executing functional and system-level testing, identifying defects, and working closely with developers, system engineers, and domain experts to ensure high-quality software releases.

Key Responsibilities

- Analyze software requirements, specifications, design documents, and change requests.
- Prepare test scenarios, test cases, test data, and test procedures.
- Perform manual testing of semiconductor equipment software and related applications.

- Installation/upgrade testing

- User interface testing
- Validate software behavior against equipment/process requirements.
- Test communication and interaction between software modules and hardware/equipment where applicable.
- Verify machine states, alarms, interlocks, sequences, parameters, configuration, and recovery behavior.
- Reproduce, document, and track software defects using defect-management tools.
- Verify defect fixes and perform appropriate regression testing.
- Support release qualification and production-release validation.
- Collaborate with developers, system engineers, hardware engineers, and domain/field engineers.
- Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies such as sprint planning, daily stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives.

Semiconductor Domain Responsibilities: The tester should be comfortable testing software that interacts with semiconductor manufacturing equipment and processes.

Required Technical Skills:

- Basic understanding of networking and communication protocols is desirable.
- Familiarity with Git or other version-control systems is an advantage.

Education Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation, or a related engineering discipline.

Experience:

2-6 years of software testing experience, preferably with:

- Semiconductor equipment software
- Industrial automation
- Embedded/desktop applications
- Manufacturing systems
- Hardware-software integrated systems

Good to Have

- Experience with equipment-control software.
- Knowledge of semiconductor manufacturing processes.
- Experience testing hardware/software integration.
- Knowledge of SECS/GEM or GEM300.
- Basic scripting knowledge using Python, PowerShell, or similar languages.
- Basic SQL knowledge.
- Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development environment.
