Product: Pick Fill Seal (PFS) & VFFS Packaging Machines

Location: Goa

Reporting To: Head – Product / Plant Head

Job Purpose To take overall responsibility for the PFS (Pick Fill Seal) and VFFS (Vertical Form Fill Seal) packaging machine product portfolio, including product development, technical coordination, costing, customization, customer requirements, production support, and continuous product improvement.

The role requires strong coordination between Design, Production, Purchase, Sales, Service, Quality, and Customers to ensure machines are developed and delivered according to technical, commercial, and quality requirements.

Key Responsibilities1. Product Management

- Take ownership of the PFS and VFFS machine product portfolio.
- Develop and maintain product specifications, configurations, and technical standards.
- Understand market requirements and identify opportunities for new machine models and features.
- Coordinate product modifications and customized machine requirements.
- Maintain product documentation, specifications, BOMs, manuals, and technical records.

1. Product Development & Engineering

- Coordinate with Mechanical, Electrical, Automation and Design teams for machine development.
- Review machine designs, layouts, assemblies, and technical specifications.
- Support development of new PFS/VFFS models and machine upgrades.
- Identify opportunities to improve machine speed, accuracy, reliability, efficiency, and ease of operation.
- Ensure designs are practical for manufacturing, assembly, installation, and servicing.

1. Production & Manufacturing Coordination

- Coordinate with Production and Assembly teams for manufacturing and assembly of machines.
- Resolve technical issues arising during fabrication, assembly, testing, and commissioning.
- Monitor machine development against planned timelines.
- Coordinate prototype and pre-dispatch machine trials.
- Ensure machines are manufactured according to approved specifications and drawings.

1. Customer & Sales Support

- Understand customer packaging requirements and recommend suitable PFS/VFFS machine configurations.
- Provide technical support to the Sales team during enquiries and quotations.
- Participate in customer meetings and technical discussions when required.
- Review customer product samples, packaging material, speed requirements,



and machine configurations.
- Support factory acceptance tests, demonstrations, installation and commissioning where required.

1. Costing & Commercial Support

- Prepare or review machine costing in coordination with Purchase, Design and Accounts.
- Evaluate material, component and manufacturing costs.
- Support preparation of technical and commercial quotations.
- Identify opportunities for cost reduction without compromising machine quality or performance.
- Review vendor quotations for major machine components.

1. Vendor & Purchase Coordination

- Coordinate with Purchase for procurement of critical machine components.
- Identify and evaluate suitable vendors for mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and automation components.
- Review technical specifications of purchased components.
- Support vendor development and alternate component identification.
- Ensure critical components are available as per project requirements.

1. Testing & Quality

- Establish and monitor machine testing requirements before dispatch.
- Coordinate Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) where applicable.
- Ensure machine performance meets approved specifications.
- Investigate recurring technical and quality issues.
- Implement corrective and preventive actions for product-related problems.

1. After-Sales & Service Support

- Coordinate with the Service team to resolve technical issues reported from customer sites.
- Analyse field complaints and identify root causes.
- Recommend design or process improvements based on field feedback.
- Maintain records of recurring machine issues and corrective actions.
- Support service teams with technical information, drawings and troubleshooting guidance.

1. Product Improvement

- Continuously analyse machine performance and customer feedback.
- Improve machine productivity, reliability, safety and maintainability.
- Standardize commonly used components and assemblies.




- Identify opportunities for reducing machine manufacturing and maintenance costs.
- Benchmark machine features and performance against industry requirements.

Required Qualification
- Bachelor's Degree / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Automation or related field.
- Additional qualification in Product Management / Industrial Automation will be an advantage.

Experience
- 5–10 years of relevant experience in packaging machinery, industrial automation, machine manufacturing or related engineering industry.
- Experience with PFS, VFFS, HFFS or other form-fill-seal packaging machines will be preferred.
- Experience in machine design, product development, production coordination or technical project management is desirable.

Technical Skills
- Solid knowledge of PFS and VFFS packaging machines
- Understanding of mechanical machine design and assemblies
- Knowledge of pneumatic and electrical systems
- Understanding of PLC/HMI and automation systems
- Knowledge of packaging materials and sealing processes
- BOM, costing and technical documentation
- Understanding of AutoCAD / SolidWorks or similar CAD software
- MS Excel and MS Office

Authority & Accountability The Manager – PFS Product will be responsible for the technical and product-level performance of PFS and VFFS machines, coordinating cross-functional teams from product concept through manufacturing, testing, delivery, commissioning and continuous improvement. Pay: ₹500,000.00 - ₹1,200,000.00 per year
