Role Purpose

Lead and oversee end-to-end Air and Ocean Freight Operations, ensuring service excellence, regulatory compliance, operational efficiency, and profitability. As a senior leader at the Bangalore location, the role holds additional responsibility for administration, compliance governance, and ISO management, supporting the organisation with oversight, guidance, and decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

1. Operations Leadership

• Oversee end-to-end Air & Ocean operations (imports, exports, documentation, customs clearance, and trade compliance).
- Ensure operational execution meets customer SLAs, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Drive consistency, scalability, and service excellence across all operational touchpoints.

1. Team Management & Leadership

• Lead, coach, and develop Air & Ocean Operations teams.
- Drive succession planning, mentoring, and leadership readiness within the function.
- Promote a culture of accountability, operational discipline, and continuous improvement.

1. Freehand Business Generation

• Generate local freehand business to increase branch revenue and margin contribution.
- Partner closely with Sales and Key Account teams to support customer acquisition and retention.

1. Customer & Carrier Relationship Management

• Build and maintain solid relationships with key customers, carriers, vendors, and service partners.
- Handle customer and operational escalations effectively, ensuring sustained customer satisfaction.

1. Financial & P&L; Management

• Own and monitor P&L; performance, cost efficiency,



productivity, and revenue growth.
- Identify and execute cost optimisation and process efficiency initiatives to improve margins.

1. Process Excellence, Digitalisation & Compliance

• Drive process improvements, digitisation, and automation initiatives across operations.
- Ensure full compliance with international trade laws, customs regulations,

carrier requirements, and internal policies.
- Act as a senior escalation point for audits, compliance reviews, and risk mitigation.

1. Admin & Compliance Oversight (Senior Responsibility)

• Provide oversight and leadership support for Bangalore branch administrative and compliance activities.
- Guide teams with the help of HR on statutory, regulatory, and internal compliance matters, for Bangalore location
- Support HR with internal and external audits, governance requirements, and critical administrative decision-making.
- Assist HR with exception handling, risk control, and compliance governance.

1. ISO Management System Point of Contact (Bangalore)

• Act as the ISO POC for the Bangalore location.
- Ensure ongoing adherence to applicable ISO standards (e.g., ISO 9001 /

14001 / 45001, as applicable).
- Drive closure of audit observations, actions, and continuous improvement initiatives.

1. Strategic Contribution

• Support overall business growth strategy in collaboration with Sales and Key Accounts.
- Represent the business in regional and global leadership forums,

contributing to best practices, alignment, and standardisation initiatives.
