JD for- Manager Heritage & Community Initiatives, Kutch

Location: Bhuj, Kutch | Full-time The Somaiya Gujarat Trust is restoring traditional heritage buildings across Kutch and giving them recent life as libraries, community spaces and, in selected locations, small homestays for textile travellers, researchers and visitors interested in the culture of Kutch.

We are looking for a dynamic, hands-on person based in Bhuj to coordinate these projects and help develop meaningful programming around them.

Key Responsibilities

- Coordinate heritage restoration projects with architects, contractors, craftspeople and local communities.
- Develop and manage libraries, community centres and cultural programmes within the restored spaces.
- Work closely with Somaiya Kala Vidya (SKV) to organise craft workshops, stitching classes and programmes for women and local communities.
- Coordinate with Somaiya Vidyavihar University (SVU) on research, documentation,



student engagement and educational programmes.
- Develop cultural immersions around Kutchs textiles, crafts, architecture, food and local traditions.
- Help establish and manage selected properties as small, culturally rooted homestays/B&Bs.;
- Build relationships with artisans, communities, researchers and cultural practitioners across Kutch.
- Oversee day-to-day coordination, budgets, timelines, documentation and reporting.

We Are Looking For

Someone with experience in heritage, craft, cultural programming, community development, hospitality or project management, who is organised, resourceful and comfortable working independently.

- A genuine interest in Kutch and its cultural heritage is essential. Gujarati or Kutchi would be an advantage.
