Role Description The Maintenance Incharge is a full-time, on-site role based in Mylapore, responsible for overseeing the upkeep and functioning of the organization’s facilities and infrastructure. Day-to-day responsibilities include planning and executing preventive and corrective maintenance for buildings, electrical and plumbing systems, and equipment, while ensuring safety and compliance with relevant standards.

The role involves coordinating with vendors, contractors, and internal teams, monitoring maintenance schedules, and maintaining records of work completed.





The Maintenance

Incharge will also address urgent repair needs, manage basic inventory of tools and supplies, and support the smooth operation of Sevalaya’s programs by ensuring a safe, clean, and functional setting.

Qualifications

- Strong facilities management and maintenance planning skills, including experience with building, electrical, and plumbing systems.
- Ability to coordinate with vendors and contractors, manage service agreements, and oversee on-site work execution.
- Competence in safety practices, basic compliance with local regulations, and proactive identification of maintenance risks.
- Good organizational and record-keeping skills for tracking maintenance activities, schedules, and inventory.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with staff and support program operations.
- Prior experience in maintenance supervision or a similar role in an institutional or community-focused setting is preferred.
- Relevant technical qualification (e.g., diploma or certification in electrical, mechanical, or civil maintenance) is an advantage.
