About the role

We are building a team for upcoming contract projects in Maharashtra that support women-led micro-enterprises through clean energy and livelihood interventions. We're looking for an experienced Livelihood Specialist to lead community engagement and enterprise-level work on these projects.

This is a contract position, subject to the award and approval of the project. Shortlisted candidates' CVs may be included in project proposals, and engagement begins only once a project is confirmed.

What you will do

- Plan and lead outreach to women entrepreneurs through SHG networks and community institutions.
- Coordinate with district and block-level staff of government livelihood programmes and partner organisations.
- Support profiling of micro-enterprises and their operational needs.
- Guide beneficiary identification, due diligence and documentation.
- Train and support field coordinators across project districts.
- Resolve field-level issues and keep implementation on schedule.
- Maintain trackers and report progress regularly.

What you need

- At least 5 years of work with women's SHG networks in Maharashtra,



through state livelihood programmes such as UMED (MSRLM), women's development institutions, or NGOs implementing with them.
- Experience in livelihood or micro-enterprise promotion.
- Fluent spoken and written Marathi, and working English or Hindi.
- Willingness to travel extensively within Maharashtra.
- Comfort with smartphone data collection apps and basic spreadsheets.
- A degree in social work, rural management, development studies or a related field.

Robust advantage

- Existing working relationships with district-level livelihood programme staff.
- Experience on energy access or productive-use-of-energy projects.
- Experience with beneficiary documentation for government schemes or bank-linked enterprise loans.

Engagement terms

- Full-time contract, typically six months per project, starting as early as October 2026.
- Competitive professional fee based on experience, with project travel reimbursed.
