Description

Responsibilities

Linux Administration Server Provisioning : Install, configure, and maintain Linux operating systems on physical servers and virtual environments.

Lifecycle management : Perform regular system patching, kernel tuning, and software upgrades to mitigate vulnerabilities.

Performance Tuning : Monitor system health, resource utilization (CPU, memory, disk I/O), and troubleshoot complex OS-level anomalies.

Access Control : Manage user accounts, SSH keys, permissions, and enforce security policies using SELinux or AppArmor.

Network Services : Configure and support core services like DNS, DHCP, NFS, SSH, and web servers (Apache, Nginx). VMware Virtualization Cluster Management : Administer VMware vSphere environments, including ESXi hosts and vCenter server appliances. VM Lifecycle : Deploy, clone, modify,



and migrate Virtual Machines (VMs) using templates and customization specifications. Resource Optimization : Configure and manage high availability features, including VMware HA, DRS, vMotion, and Storage vMotion.

Storage & Networking : Manage virtual networking (vSwitches, distributed switches) and coordinate datastore allocations over SAN/NAS protocols. Automation & Operations Scripting : Automate routine administrative tasks using Bash or Python scripting. Infrastructure as Code : Utilize configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible) for uniform software deployment.

Backup & DR : Oversee daily system backups and replication strategies using enterprise tools (e.g., Veeam, Veritas). Incident Management : Resolve critical production incidents within stipulated SLAs. H/W Management : Strong experience with HPE and Dell servers and storage, including managing and provisioning storage volumes, snapshots, snapshot restoration, SAN, etc.

Qualifications
