Job Title: Lead – Mechanical Engineering (Underwater / Defence Systems)

About Planys: Planys builds mission-critical robotic and digital systems for defence and strategic infrastructure — unmanned underwater vehicles (UUVs), ruggedised electronics for armoured vehicles, and AI-enabled inspection/NDT systems for naval, coast guard, and army applications.

Role:

- Lead full-cycle mechanical development of underwater systems — concept to prototyping, testing, deployment
- Drive architecture decisions on pressure housings, enclosures, sealing, thermal pathways, structural frames, hydrodynamic design
- Manage multiple engineering projects against timeline, cost, and quality targets
- Supervise field/offshore testing and post-deployment support
- Own engineering documentation — design reports,



test protocols, FMEAs, BOMs
- Mentor junior engineers; work cross-functionally with electronics/software/field teams

Must-haves:

- B.E./B.Tech or M.E./M.Tech in Mechanical, Marine Engineering, Mechatronics or equivalent
- 6–8 yrs mechanical design experience, preferably robotics/marine/hardware NPD
- Strong SolidWorks/Fusion 360; deep GD&T; and tolerance-stack expertise
- Underwater system design exposure: pressure ratings, corrosion mitigation, sealing (O-rings, epoxy)
- CNC machining, injection molding, sheet metal design, DFMA
- Willingness to work in office/offshore for trials

Good to have: IECEx, ISO 9001, IP rating, MIL-STD, marine/navy defence standards familiarity
