Job Purpose: This role is responsible for overseeing the maintenance, optimization, and reliability of auxiliary systems, including Circulating Water Parks (CWP), Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) Systems, Reverse Osmosis (RO) Plants, and Debris Filters. This role involves strategic planning, daily monitoring, vendor management, and project execution to ensure the effective and reliable operation of these systems across multiple sites.

Responsibilities

Lead - Balance of Plant (BOP)

Maintenance and Optimization:

Support Circulating Water Parks (CWP), Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) Systems, Reverse Osmosis (RO) Plants, and Debris Filters proactively to reduce equipment failures through regular review and preventive measures.

Monitor critical equipment and identify maintenance requirements outside of Annual Overhaul (AOH) and Continuous Overhaul (COH) schedules.





Ensure projects are uniformly implemented across all sites and support sites in identifying and resolving issues.

Implement trial projects and phased rollouts, working closely with the engineering and quality departments.

Conduct annual technical audits to address identified deficiencies.

Daily Operations and Planning:

Participate in daily planning meetings headed by the Chief Operating Officer (COO) to discuss critical issues and defects identified at sites.

Engage in discussions with site teams before attending meetings to constructively identify and resolve issues.

Execute and implement approved projects, such as improvements to cooling towers, based on identified issues and requirements.

Supervise and optimize vendor services, perform site inspections, and evaluate project performance to ensure targets are met.

Ensure timely and successful project implementation and introduce new technologies for improved performance and reliability.

Vendor and Procurement Management:

Identify suitable vendors, conduct technical discussions, and obtain management approval for solutions that offer long-term benefits.

Prepare specifications for procurement and services, evaluate vendor offers, and ensure timely delivery and installation of materials.

Supervise Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) activities and provide support during site visits, annual maintenance, and urgent technical evaluations.

Monitor critical spares to prevent outages and optimize costs by considering non-Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) vendors in collaboration with site teams.

Support the Techno Commercial (TC) team in vendor identification and technical evaluations, expediting processes when urgent actions are required.

Project and Process Improvement:





Suggest and implement system process improvements based on site team inputs and calculate payback periods for new projects or modifications.

Consolidate spares activities, support procurement processes, and conduct detailed technical studies.

Collaborate with senior management, vendors, and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to resolve equipment failures and conduct detailed technical studies.

Compliance:

Participate in Flue Gas Desulfurization (FGD) projects by preparing reports, layouts, and supporting Flue Gas Desulfurization (FGD) plant operations and performance monitoring.

Engage in Operating Expenditure (OPEX) and Capital Expenditure (CAPEX) budgeting, condition monitoring, and providing support when the Techno Commercial (TC) team interacts with vendors for cost detection.

Assist site teams during annual shutdowns by conducting Root Cause Analyses (RCA) and providing recommendations for critical equipment.

Organize annual vendor presentations to showcase new technologies and maintenance strategies.

Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A;):

Conduct technical due diligence for Balance of Plant (BOP) -related aspects in Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A;) activities.

Review equipment designs, site operations, and provide red flags and cost implications.

Assess ongoing disputes, equipment issues, and contracting terms.

Provide comprehensive due dilliegence report and cost estimates to the Business Development (BD) team.

Educational Qualification: B.E/B.Tech Mechanical, Advanced degrees or cetifications (preferred)

Work Experience (Range of years):

Minimum 10 years of experience in the maintenance and optimization of Balance of Plant (BOP) systems.

Preferred Industry:

Background in power and utilities sector.
