Job Overview

We are looking for an experienced L2 Network Engineer to support our Network Operations Center (NOC) and plant network infrastructure across multiple manufacturing facilities in Medchal, Telangana.

The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on experience in network monitoring, switching, routing, firewall management, LAN/WAN, VPN, network security and production/plant network support.

The engineer will be responsible for maintaining network availability, troubleshooting critical incidents, supporting production operations, implementing approved network changes and coordinating with internal teams, ISPs and OEMs.

Key Responsibilities

Network Infrastructure Management

- Manage and maintain switches, routers, firewalls, Wi-Fi, VPN, LAN and WAN infrastructure.
- Monitor network devices and proactively identify potential failures.
- Maintain high network availability and minimize production downtime.
- Maintain network topology, IP addressing, VLAN and port-mapping documentation.
- Support cable layout, cable punching and network connectivity requirements.

Switching & Routing
- Configure and troubleshoot Cisco, HP/HPE switches and routers.
- Configure VLANs, access ports, trunk ports and inter-VLAN routing.
- Troubleshoot L2/L3 connectivity issues, routing problems and network loops.
- Hands-on experience with BGP, OSPF, static routing, MPLS and network tunnels.
- Support cloud connectivity and related network configurations.

Firewall & VPN
- Configure and troubleshoot FortiGate firewalls.
- Manage firewall policies, NAT and routing.
- Configure and troubleshoot SSL VPN, IPsec VPN and Site-to-Site VPN.
- Monitor firewall logs and coordinate with cybersecurity/SOC teams for security incidents.
- Support firewall upgrades, patching and security configuration activities.

Network Monitoring & Troubleshooting
- Monitor bandwidth, latency, packet loss, interface utilization and network errors.
- Troubleshoot:
- IP conflicts
- DHCP/DNS issues
- Link flapping
- Packet loss
- SFP/Fiber issues
- CRC/interface errors
- Broadcast storms
- Network loops




- Connectivity and routing issues
- Perform troubleshooting using Ping, Traceroute, ARP, MAC tables and interface-level analysis.

Plant / Production Network Support
- Provide network support for manufacturing/production environments.
- Support connectivity for MES, VTS, CCTV, printers, scanners and other IT/OT devices.
- Support new production-line network installations and expansions.
- Ensure network availability for critical production operations.
- Coordinate with Production, Quality, Engineering and IT teams during network incidents.
- Provide support during shift/night-shift operations when required.
- Support network infrastructure within data center environments.

Incident & Problem Management
- Respond to network incidents according to defined SLAs.
- Perform root-cause analysis for recurring and major network issues.
- Prepare RCA reports for critical network incidents.
- Escalate unresolved issues to OEMs, ISPs and service providers.
- Maintain incident and troubleshooting records.

Preventive Maintenance
- Conduct periodic network health checks.
- Monitor:
- CPU and memory utilization
- Interface/CRC errors
- SFP/Fiber status
- Temperature
- Power/SMPS status
- Device logs
- Uplink and redundancy status
- Network cable routing and marking
- Identify and address potential network failures proactively.

Change Management & Documentation
- Implement approved network changes following change-management procedures.
- Maintain configuration backups for critical network devices.
- Maintain:
- Network topology diagrams
- IP address lists
- VLAN details
- Switch port mappings
- Firewall documentation
- WAN/ISP details
- Device inventory
- Configuration backups
- Incident/RCA records
- Prepare regular network health reports for the IT Manager.

Vendor & ISP Coordination
- Coordinate with ISP, OEM, firewall, switch and network service vendors.
- Raise and track service tickets.
- Follow up on link failures, hardware replacement and service restoration.
- Validate network services after restoration or replacement.




- Monitor vendor SLA compliance.

Project & Compliance Support
- Support network planning and implementation for new projects and production lines.
- Install and configure switches, routers, firewalls and access points.
- Perform network testing before project handover.
- Support ISO 27001 requirements related to network infrastructure.
- Support VAPT activities and remediation of network vulnerabilities.
- Participate in periodic Network Business Continuity Plan (BCP) activities.

Candidate Profile We are looking for a hands-on L2 Network Engineer who can independently troubleshoot network issues, manage plant infrastructure and coordinate effectively with production, IT, cybersecurity, OEM and ISP teams.

Candidates with solid manufacturing/plant network experience and immediate or short notice availability are preferred.
