We are looking for an experienced L2 Perimeter Firewall Engineer with strong hands-on expertise in Palo Alto Networks firewalls to manage and support enterprise perimeter security infrastructure.

The engineer will be responsible for L2 operations, troubleshooting, configuration, monitoring and maintenance of Palo Alto firewall environments deployed across different infrastructure environments, including data centers and enterprise user groups.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide L2 support and troubleshooting for Palo Alto perimeter firewalls.
- Manage and troubleshoot firewall policies, security rules, NAT, VPN and routing-related issues.
- Perform firewall configuration, rule implementation, policy changes and security hardening.
- Monitor firewall health, traffic patterns, security events and connectivity issues.
- Troubleshoot incidents related to application connectivity, network traffic and security policies.
- Work with different Palo Alto firewall series/models, including both small and large deployments.
- Support firewall infrastructure deployed based on usage requirements such as Data Centers, enterprise groups and other network environments.
- Analyze logs and traffic flows using Palo Alto monitoring and troubleshooting tools.
- Coordinate with L3, network, security, application and OEM teams for complex incidents.




- Follow ITIL/change-management processes for firewall changes and implementations.
- Maintain operational documentation, configuration records and incident/change reports.
- Participate in security audits, vulnerability remediation and firewall compliance activities.

Mandatory Technical Skills
- Strong hands-on experience with Palo Alto Networks Firewall.
- Experience in L2 Firewall Operations / Network Security.
- Good knowledge of:
- Firewall policies and security rules
- NAT
- Routing & switching fundamentals
- VPN
- Application/URL filtering
- Security profiles
- Traffic and threat-log analysis
- Firewall troubleshooting
- Experience working with multiple Palo Alto firewall series/models, including both large and small appliances.
- Strong understanding of perimeter firewall architecture and enterprise network security.

Preferred Certifications
- CEH
- CCNA / CCNP Security
- Palo Alto Networks certification such as PCNSA / PCNSE would be an added advantage.

Educational Qualification
- BE / B.Tech
- BCA / MCA
- Master's degree in Computer Science / Information Technology

Candidate Profile
- Solid troubleshooting and analytical skills.
- Good communication and coordination skills.
- Experience working in enterprise/banking/critical infrastructure environments will be an advantage.
- Ability to work in a process-driven and high-availability environment.
- Willingness to work as per operational/support requirements.
