- This is a full-time, remote role on our own product the BlueHippo core platform. Not client project work.
- Working hours are in IST, Monday to Friday.
- Salary: 30,000 to 40,000 per month, based on skills and experience.
- You own your features end to end — design, build, test, deploy.
- No dual employment / moonlighting. This will be checked.

The Work

Build and run the Java backend of the BlueHippo core platform on AWS — web services, serverless and EC2 deployments, and the databases behind them. You use Claude (or similar AI coding assistants) daily to write, review and speed up code.

What you will do:

- Design, build and maintain Java services and REST / SOAP web services (Spring Boot) for the BlueHippo platform.
- Build and deploy on AWS Lambda and EC2; monitor with CloudWatch.
- Design and query relational (MySQL / PostgreSQL / Oracle) and NoSQL (DynamoDB / MongoDB) databases.
- Use Claude and other AI tools to write,



debug and review code — and check what they produce.
- Agree API contracts with the frontend team.
- Write unit and integration tests; take part in code reviews.
- Troubleshoot production issues and fix them quickly.
- Document APIs, deployments and data models.
- Join daily product standups.

Must Have

- 3+ years hands-on Java development — Java 8 / 11 / 17, Spring Boot.
- Strong experience building and consuming REST and SOAP web services.
- Hands-on AWS deployment — Lambda and EC2; working knowledge of S3, IAM, CloudWatch, API Gateway, RDS.
- Relational and NoSQL database experience.
- Regular, practical use of Claude or an equivalent AI coding assistant.
- Git.
- Excellent spoken and written English.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field.

Positive to Have Product / SaaS development experience • Docker • CI/CD (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, AWS CodePipeline) • Microservices • Agile / Scrum • AWS Certified Developer – Associate.
