Role Summary

Hiring Java Backend Developers to build and scale an in-house regulatory screening engine as part of a long-term modernization initiative. The team is replacing a vendor-based solution and developing a scalable microservices ecosystem that supports ongoing regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

- Design, develop, and maintain Java-based backend applications.

- Build and enhance RESTful APIs and microservices.

- Contribute to the development of a regulatory sanctions screening platform.

- Collaborate with engineering teams on system design, development, deployment, and production support.

- Support application modernization and platform scalability initiatives.

- Participate in code reviews, problem-solving discussions, and technical design sessions.

- Follow CI/CD and deployment best practices.

Must-Have Qualifications:

- 3+ years of software development experience (4+ years preferred).

- Strong Java programming and coding skills.





- Robust problem-solving and analytical abilities.

- Hands-on experience with Spring Framework and Spring Boot.

- Experience building and consuming REST APIs.

- Strong knowledge of SQL or NoSQL databases.

- Understanding of database fundamentals and data modeling concepts.

- Familiarity with Microservices architecture and distributed systems.

- Working knowledge of CI/CD concepts, build pipelines, and deployment processes.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Spring Batch experience.

- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.

- Cloud platform exposure (AWS, Azure, GCP, or similar).

- Experience with both SQL and NoSQL databases.

- Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools such as Cursor or Claude Code.

- Experience mentoring junior engineers or providing technical leadership.
