Job Title: IoT Firmware Engineer

Location: Bangalore

IoT Connectivity & Firmware Development

1. ESP-IDF Mastery: Architect and develop firmware using the ESP-IDF (C/C++) framework, utilizing native components for Wi-Fi, Bluetooth/BLE, and advanced power management.
2. ESP-AT Command Engineering: Design, implement, and troubleshoot both standard and custom ESP-AT command sets. Build robust UART-based AT parsers on host microcontrollers to reliably control ESP modules as network co-processors, ensuring flawless handling of asynchronous events, timeouts, and state recovery.
3. Cloud Integration: Design secure MQTT/HTTPS pipelines via AWS IoT Core for real-time telemetry, remote configuration, and device shadowing.
4. Protocol Implementation: Deep-level implementation of networking protocols, including TCP/IP, UDP, and WebSockets, ensuring data integrity across unstable networks.
5. Modular Communication: Implement and optimize ESP-AT command sets to facilitate communication between host microcontrollers and wireless modules.
6. Hardware Bring-up & Edge Reliability
7. PCBA Validation: Lead "smoke tests" and initial bring-up for new hardware prototypes; verify power rails and communication interfaces.
8. Low-Level Debugging: Troubleshoot complex timing issues, bus contention, and signal integrity on I2C, SPI, and UART using Logic Analyzers and Oscilloscopes.
9. Resilient Logic: Develop sophisticated state machines to handle network dropouts, implementing local data logging and "store-and-forward" mechanisms to prevent data loss.
10. Software Quality & Documentation
11. Version Control: Maintain a clean, scalable codebase using Gitflow and participate in rigorous peer code reviews.
12. Technical Writing: Author Hardware Abstraction Layer (HAL) documentation, Technical Design Documents (TDD), and API specifications.
13. CI/CD & Testing: Integrate automated linting (e.g., Cppcheck)



and unit testing into the development workflow to ensure firmware stability.

Required Technical Skills

- Languages: Proficiency in Embedded C.
- Platforms: Deep experience with the ESP32 ecosystem (S3, C3, and WROOM series).
- RTOS: Advanced knowledge of FreeRTOS (Task notifications, Event groups, Queues, and Mutexes).
- Tools: Mastery of VS Code with ESP-IDF extension/Espressif IDE, Wireshark for packet analysis, and JTAG/SWD debuggers.
- Security: Solid understanding of TLS/SSL, Secure Boot, and Flash Encryption for IoT devices.

Nice to Have" (Bonus Skills)

- STM32 Ecosystem: Experience with STM32CubeIDE and HAL/LL drivers for Cortex-M cores.
- Analog & DSP: Experience with ADC sampling, Nyquist-based filtering, and MUX sequencing. Knowledge of ARM CMSIS-DSP or FIR/IIR filter implementation is a major plus.
- OTA Strategies: Proven track record of implementing custom partition tables and secure rollback mechanisms for Over-the-Air updates.
- Mathematical Modeling: Ability to prototype signal processing algorithms in MATLAB or Octave before C-code implementation.
