We are looking for an Intraoperative Neuromonitoring (IONM) Technologist to support neurophysiological monitoring during surgical procedures. The candidate will work closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other members of the operating-room team to monitor the functional integrity of the nervous system during surgery.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform Intraoperative Neuromonitoring (IONM) during surgical procedures.
- Prepare the patient, electrodes, stimulators, and monitoring equipment before surgery.
- Acquire and monitor neurophysiological signals throughout the procedure.
- Assist with monitoring modalities such as SSEP, MEP, EMG, EEG, BAEP/ABR, and other modalities depending on the procedure and training.
- Recognize significant changes in monitored signals and communicate findings promptly according to established clinical protocols.
- Perform pre-operative equipment checks and troubleshooting.
Qualification Candidates may have a relevant qualification in areas such as:
Allied Health Sciences with Neurophysiology / EEG / NCS exposure
- Diploma / Degree in Neurotechnology or Neurophysiology Technology
Preferred Experience & Skills
- Minimum 2+ year of experience in EEG, NCS, EMG, or Neurophysiology preferred.
- Existing IONM experience is an advantage; candidates with solid EEG/NCS experience who are interested in transitioning to IONM may also apply.
- Basic knowledge of neuroanatomy, neurophysiology, and electrophysiology.
- Comfortable working inside an Operating Room (OR).
- Willingness to work according to surgical schedules, including extended or flexible hours when required.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to remain attentive during long surgical procedures.
