About Us

Shastri Associates is a Bengaluru-based law practice handling civil, criminal, family, property, and writ matters before the City Civil and Sessions Courts, Magistrate Courts, Tribunals, and the High Court of Karnataka. We offer interns hands-on exposure to real litigation and drafting work under the direct guidance of practising advocates.

Role Overview

We are looking for motivated law students or recent graduates to join us as Legal Interns. You will assist with research, drafting, and court work across a wide range of matters, and gain practical experience in day-to-day litigation practice.

Key Responsibilities

- Conduct legal research on statutes, case law, and procedural questions, and prepare concise research notes.
- Assist in drafting legal notices, replies, plaints, written statements, petitions, applications, affidavits, and agreements.
- Accompany advocates to courts, tribunals, and police stations; observe proceedings and take notes.
- Maintain case files, track hearing dates,



and check case status on eCourts and the High Court website.
- Help with client meetings, including recording facts and organising documents.
- Proofread and format documents for filing.

Eligibility

- Students in 3rd year or above of a 5-year LL.B. programme, or 2nd year or above of a 3-year LL.B. programme; recent graduates are also welcome.
- Good written and spoken English. Working knowledge of Kannada is preferred, as many court documents and proceedings are in Kannada.
- Familiarity with basic legal research tools (SCC Online, Manupatra, Indian Kanoon, etc.).
- Proficiency in MS Word and basic computer skills.
- Punctual, detail-oriented, and willing to learn.
