We are looking for an Interior Design Consultant who can combine strong client interaction with hands-on interior designing.

What makes this role different?This is not a conventional sales role.

You will not be responsible for cold calling, lead generation, sales targets, price negotiation or commercial closure.

However, you must be comfortable interacting with qualified prospective clients and taking responsibility for understanding their requirements before designing.

The role broadly follows

Client Discovery → Requirement Understanding → Space & Storage Planning → Design Consultation → Designing → Presentation → Revisions → Design Approval

Key Responsibilities

- Conduct structured client discovery and understand family, lifestyle, storage and functional requirements.
- Ask the right questions before beginning the design.
- Convert client requirements into practical space-planning and interior solutions.
- Design kitchens, wardrobes, TV units, puja units, study areas and other residential interiors.
- Prepare layouts, concepts, 3D designs, presentations and drawings.




- Present and explain design recommendations confidently to clients.
- Help clients make design decisions without unnecessary confusion or repeated revisions.
- Incorporate client feedback and take designs towards approval.
- Coordinate with sales, project and execution teams.
- Maintain accurate design documentation.
- Learn and follow Rao Space design standards, processes and systems.
- Participate in creating internal training videos and learning material for future employees.
- Continuously improve your knowledge of materials, products, planning and residential design.

- Are a good interior designer but also enjoy talking to clients.
- Can listen carefully and ask meaningful questions.
- Can understand the reason behind a client's request rather than simply execute instructions.
- Can explain your design confidently.
- Understand space planning and storage planning.
- Have good knowledge of residential interiors, modular kitchens and wardrobes.
- Can balance functionality + aesthetics + practicality.
- Are comfortable learning new software and systems.
- Take ownership of your work and client commitments.
- Believe that design should solve problems, not just look attractive.

Software SkillsExperience with tools such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, 3D/rendering software or similar interior-design tools is preferred. We value design thinking, client understanding and willingness to learn more than expertise in any one software platform.
