Job Summary The Induction Handler sets up and operates induction heating equipment to heat-treat, harden, or melt metal workpieces based on blueprint and quality specifications. This role involves managing material loading/unloading, monitoring temperature cycles, and ensuring safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Equipment Operation & Setup: Set up and operate induction hardening scanners, furnaces, and heating machines safely.
- Material Handling: Load and unload raw and processed metal components using hoists, ladles, or automated controls.
- Process Configuration: Review blueprints and work orders to determine heating times, current frequencies, and required coils.
- Monitoring & Calibration: Monitor temperature gauges and cooling systems, adjusting power parameters to prevent metal warping or cracking.
- Quality Control:
Inspect finished components using precision measuring tools to verify adherence to hardness and depth specifications.
- Routine Maintenance: Maintain and clean coils, swap fixtures, and report equipment defects.
- Production Documentation: Log production quantities, settings, and quality metrics.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Experience: 1–3 years in heat-treating, metallurgy, foundries, or industrial material handling.
- Technical Literacy: Ability to interpret blueprints and technical work orders.
- Mathematical Precision: Skill in measuring parts and adjusting power settings.
- Safety Mindset: Adherence to industrial safety protocols and PPE requirements.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift heavy metal components and stand for extended periods in high-temperature environments.
