Role Description The In-house Attorney will provide comprehensive legal support across Houzeo’s operations, with a focus on real estate, corporate, and employment matters. This full-time, on-site role is based in Mumbai and involves drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a wide range of contracts, policies, and legal documents. The attorney will research applicable laws and regulations, assess legal risks, and advise internal stakeholders on compliance, data protection, labor and employment issues, and regulatory requirements.

Day-to-day responsibilities include supporting cross-functional teams, managing legal disputes or claims, coordinating with external counsel when needed,



and helping establish best practices that protect the company’s interests while supporting business objectives. The role also includes monitoring legal developments relevant to Houzeo’s services and recommending proactive changes to internal processes and documentation.

Qualifications

- Strong foundation in Law, with the ability to interpret and apply statutes, regulations, and case law to business operations.
- Experience in Labor and Employment Law, including drafting employment contracts, policies, and advising on workplace compliance.
- Proven ability to provide clear, practical Legal Advice to non-legal stakeholders and support decision-making across teams.
- Solid Research skills to analyze legal issues, track regulatory changes, and prepare well-reasoned opinions and reports.
- Effective Negotiation skills for handling contracts, settlements, and agreements with partners, vendors, and other parties.
- LL.B. or equivalent law degree from an accredited institution; enrollment with the Bar Council of India (or eligibility) is preferred.
- Experience as in-house counsel or with law firms supporting technology or real estate businesses is an advantage.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple matters simultaneously.
- High ethical standards, sound judgment, and a team-oriented approach to working with cross-functional teams on-site in Mumbai.
