Import & Export Executive – Petrochemical Trading

About the Role

We are a growing Indian company engaged in the import and export of petrochemicals and chemicals. We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Import & Export Executive to manage international trade operations, logistics, customs clearance and regulatory compliance.

The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in import/export operations and be comfortable coordinating independently with international suppliers, customers, customs brokers, freight forwarders, shipping lines and government authorities.

Key Responsibilities

· Manage end-to-end import and export operations from order confirmation to shipment and final closure.

· Coordinate with overseas suppliers/customers, freight forwarders, shipping lines, CHAs/customs brokers, transporters and warehouses.

· Track shipments, vessel schedules, container movement, customs clearance and deliveries.

· Ensure timely and accurate completion of import/export documentation and customs formalities.

· Coordinate with Customs/CHA for import clearance, export clearance and resolution of customs-related issues.

· Take responsibility for identifying, obtaining and maintaining all requisite registrations, licenses, permissions and approvals required for petrochemical import/export activities in India.

· Coordinate with DGFT, Customs, GST, ICEGATE, port authorities and other relevant regulatory agencies, wherever applicable.

· Manage and maintain applicable IEC, AD Code, RCMC and product-specific registrations/licenses/permissions, as required.

· Check applicable HS/ITC(HS)



classification, import/export policy conditions and product-specific regulatory requirements.

· Monitor changes in relevant import/export, customs, GST, FEMA/RBI and product-specific regulations.

· Coordinate with banks and the finance team for trade documentation, international payments and export proceeds.

· Monitor freight, port charges, demurrage, detention and other logistics costs.

· Maintain shipment records, trackers and MIS reports for management.

· Proactively resolve shipment delays, documentation issues and regulatory/compliance matters.

Candidate Requirements

· Graduate in Commerce, International Trade, Logistics, Supply Chain, Business Administration or a related field.

· 2–5 years of relevant experience in Import & Export / International Trade / Logistics.

· Experience in petrochemicals, chemicals, polymers, solvents or commodity trading will be preferred.

· Good knowledge of Indian Customs, DGFT, GST, ICEGATE, FEMA/RBI and international trade procedures.

· Practical knowledge of HS codes, Incoterms and customs clearance.

· Experience working with CHAs/customs brokers, freight forwarders and shipping lines.

· Knowledge of DG/Dangerous Goods and hazardous chemical shipments will be an advantage.

· Good communication, coordination and follow-up skills.

· Good working knowledge of MS Excel, Word and email.

· Ability to work independently and take ownership in a quick-growing startup environment.
