We are looking for an experienced SWIFT Payments Tester to join our banking technology team in Chennai. The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on experience in payments testing, SWIFT messaging, MT/MX messages and ISO 20022 standards.

Key Responsibilities

- Perform functional, integration, system, regression and end-to-end testing of payment applications.
- Design and execute test scenarios, test cases and test scripts for payment workflows.
- Validate SWIFT MT and ISO 20022 MX messages.
- Work with payment message types such as MT103, MT202, PACS.008, PACS.009, CAMT and related messages.
- Validate payment processing, routing, acknowledgements, rejections, reversals and exception scenarios.
- Perform end-to-end testing of domestic and international payment flows.
- Validate message transformation and mapping between MT and MX/ISO 20022 formats.
- Perform API testing using Postman/SOAP UI where applicable.
- Validate backend transaction data using SQL.
- Log, track and manage defects using JIRA/ALM or similar tools.
- Work closely with Business Analysts, Developers and Banking/Payments teams.
- Support UAT, release validation and production verification activities.




- Participate in requirement analysis and provide testing estimates.

Mandatory Skills
- 3–8 years of experience in Software Testing / Banking Payments Testing.
- Strong hands-on experience in SWIFT Payments Testing.
- Good knowledge of SWIFT MT and ISO 20022 MX messages.
- Knowledge of payment lifecycle and end-to-end payment processing.
- Experience with functional, integration, regression and system testing.
- Valuable understanding of payment-related banking processes.
- Good communication and analytical skills.

Good to Have

- Experience with CBPR+.
- Knowledge of SEPA, RTGS, NEFT or other payment schemes.
- Experience with Finacle, TCS BaNCS or other core banking/payment applications.
- API testing using Postman/SOAP UI.
- SQL/database validation.
- Experience with SWIFT Alliance or payment hubs.
- Knowledge of AML/sanctions screening and payment compliance.
