About The Role

We are seeking a dedicated HR Payroll Professional to join our dynamic team at Kyndryl India. In this role, you will be responsible for managing end-to-end payroll processes with a specific focus on Japan payroll processing. Your expertise will ensure accurate and timely salary disbursements, compliance with local regulations, and seamless coordination with third-party payroll vendors.

You will act as a key liaison between the HR, finance, and management teams, interpreting complex pay policies and ensuring their proper implementation. Additionally, you will lead payroll system upgrades and implementations, contributing to the continuous improvement of our payroll operations. Qualifications The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of 7 years of overall HR payroll experience,



with at least 3 to 5 years of dedicated hands-on experience in Japan payroll processing. A strong understanding of payroll and accounting processes, along with proficiency in payroll programs and MS Office Suite, is essential. Candidates should demonstrate high professionalism, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with diverse teams and management levels.

Knowledge of employment law, regulatory compliance, and legal requirements specific to Japan is crucial. Fluency in Japanese (JLPT N2 or N1 level) both written and verbal is required for seamless collaboration with Japan-based HR stakeholders. A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, Human Resources, or related fields is preferred, along with prior experience in similar roles.

Responsibilities

- Manage end-to-end payroll processing for Japan, including calculations for Social Insurance (Shakai Hoken), Labor Insurance, and Resident Tax (Jūminzei).
- Ensure timely and accurate salary disbursements in compliance with local laws and company policies.
- Interpret and implement pay policies, leave management, disability, workers' compensation, and union contract provisions.
- Coordinate with third-party payroll vendors to facilitate system implementations, upgrades, and troubleshooting.
- Stay updated on federal and state payroll regulations,



ensuring ongoing compliance and legal adherence.
- Collaborate with HR and finance teams to resolve payroll discrepancies and address employee inquiries effectively.
- Assist in the offboarding process, working closely with former employees, unions, and internal teams to ensure smooth transitions.
- Prepare and maintain payroll documentation, reports, and audit records for compliance and audit purposes.
- Act as a compliance champion, advocating for best practices and regulatory adherence across payroll activities.
