About the Company

Basis Vectors is a private equity firm focused on vertical SaaS. Founded in 2019, it combines capital and operating expertise to help entrepreneurs build sustainable, long-term businesses.

Basis Vectors Portfolio Services

India provides shared services to the firm and its portfolio companies, working alongside global teams in a fast-paced, remote-first environment. The India team helps create reliable operating foundations across people, processes, and business support functions. This role contributes to that platform by ensuring employees receive consistent, compliant, and responsive HR support throughout their employment lifecycle. The organization values ownership, accuracy, confidentiality, practical problem-solving, and strong collaboration across distributed teams and multiple business environments.

About the Role

As HR Operations, you will own the systems and processes that keep the employee lifecycle accurate, compliant, and employee-friendly across the India entity and supported portfolio companies. You will manage onboarding and exits, coordinate payroll inputs and benefits, maintain HRIS data, and respond to employee questions across teams and time zones. Your work will reduce operational risk, improve employee experience, and give leadership dependable people data for decisions.

You will also strengthen policies, SOPs, reporting, and workflows so HR services scale effectively in a remote-first, multi-entity environment. Success means employees receive timely support, payroll and records remain accurate, statutory obligations are met, and HR processes are continuously improved.

Key Responsibilities

- Own end-to-end onboarding through offer documentation, background verification, access coordination, and virtual induction, ensuring every remote hire becomes productive with a consistent and compliant start.
- Manage offboarding, confirmations, transfers, promotions, and lifecycle letters through documented workflows, ensuring accurate records, timely settlements, and a professional employee experience.
- Prepare and validate monthly payroll inputs covering attendance, leave, joiners, exits, and variable pay, coordinating with payroll vendors or finance to reduce errors and delays.
- Administer benefits including medical insurance enrolments, claims, and reimbursements, resolving salary,

tax declarations, Form 16, and investment-proof queries with clear employee communication.
- Own statutory compliance across PF, ESIC, Gratuity, Professional Tax, LWF, Shops and Establishments requirements, and related obligations, maintaining audit-ready registers and tracking labour-code changes.
- Maintain accurate HRIS records and confidential employee files while producing MIS dashboards on headcount, attrition, leave, and attendance that support leadership decisions.
- Improve HR policies, SOPs, and employee-handbook content while supporting engagement initiatives, performance cycles, and HR projects across portfolio companies.

Essential Skills & Technologies

- 3–6 years of hands-on HR operations experience in SaaS, technology, shared services, or a multi-entity environment, with practical ownership of employee lifecycle processes.
- Strong working knowledge of Indian labour laws and statutory compliance, including PF, ESIC, Gratuity, Professional Tax, LWF, and Shops and Establishments requirements.
- Experience coordinating payroll inputs with vendors or finance teams, administering benefits, and resolving employee queries on compensation, taxation, and documentation.
- Proficiency in an HRMS such as Keka, Zoho People, Darwinbox, GreytHR, or similar, with strong Excel or Google Sheets capability including VLOOKUP and pivot tables.
- Clear written and verbal English communication, solid confidentiality, and the ability to work independently while supporting employees across teams and time zones.
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; MBA or PGDM in HR is preferred for broader process ownership.

Additional Plus

- Experience supporting multiple entities or portfolio companies at the same time, with the judgment to standardize core processes while adapting to different operating needs.
- Exposure to US or global stakeholders and remote-first collaboration,

enabling effective communication across time zones and culturally diverse teams.
- Familiarity with HR process automation, workflow improvement, or HRIS optimization that increases accuracy, visibility, and service responsiveness.

What You'll Bring

You bring hands-on HR operations experience and the discipline to manage sensitive, deadline-driven work without losing sight of employee experience. You can translate policies and statutory requirements into practical workflows, maintain accurate records, and follow issues through to resolution. You are comfortable coordinating payroll inputs, benefits, compliance activities, and HRIS updates with internal teams and external vendors. You communicate clearly in English, write precise employee-facing documentation, and build trust through responsiveness and discretion. You use Excel or Google Sheets to validate information and create useful reports rather than relying on assumptions. You are organized enough to manage competing priorities across an India entity and portfolio companies, while remaining calm when requirements change. You take ownership in a remote environment, identify process gaps early, and improve them through documentation, automation, and consistent follow-through.

Experience with global stakeholders, multi-entity support, or SaaS businesses will help you contribute quickly and confidently.
