About the Company

We are an established manufacturer of nonferrous castings with five decades of experience supplying critical components to the steel industry. We are growing and are building a qualified HR function from the ground up. This is the first HR leadership role in the company and reports directly to the Managing Director.

The Role

You will own the entire people function of the plant: hiring, onboarding, compliance, payroll coordination, industrial relations and employee welfare. You will build our recruitment process and hire across shop floor, supervisory, engineering and staff roles.

Key Responsibilities

Recruitment and Talent

- Build a steady pipeline of candidates for workers, supervisors, engineers and office staff, including sourcing from outside the district where local talent is limited.
- Screen candidates for experience, stability, attitude and basic role fit, and coordinate technical interviews with the management.
- Verify references, previous employment and documents before any offer is made.
- Run onboarding, induction and safety orientation for every new joiner.
- Maintain job descriptions, a salary structure and a hiring plan aligned to production needs.

Statutory Compliance

- Ensure full compliance with the Code on Wages, Industrial Relations Code, Code on Social Security and the Occupational Safety, Health and Working Conditions Code, along with their central and Jharkhand state rules.
- Manage PF, ESIC, bonus, gratuity, minimum wages, professional tax and labour welfare fund obligations, including timely filings and returns.
- Handle contract labour compliance: contractor licensing, verification of contractor payments of wages, PF and ESIC, and proper records.
- Maintain factory licences,



statutory registers, notices and returns, and represent the company during inspections by labour and factory authorities.
- Ensure compliance with the Jharkhand local employment law, including portal registration and reporting.
- Set up and run the Internal Committee under the POSH Act, and maintain standing orders and HR policies.

Payroll, Attendance and Administration

- Oversee attendance, overtime, leave and shift records, and coordinate accurate monthly payroll.
- Maintain complete and audit ready personnel files for all employees.

Employee Relations and Welfare

- Handle grievances, discipline, domestic enquiries and settlements fairly and in line with law.
- Maintain harmonious relations with workers and any unions or worker representatives.
- Drive safety awareness, welfare measures and retention of skilled workers.

Who We Are Looking For

- MBA or PGDM in HR, or a Master's degree in Labour Welfare, Social Work or Personnel Management.
- At least 5 years of hands on plant HR in a foundry, casting, forging, fabrication, welding or steel unit.
- Working understanding of shop floor roles such as melting, moulding, machining, maintenance, quality and dispatch, enough to assess candidates credibly.
- Proven experience handling labour inspections, contract labour and statutory filings independently.
- Comfortable living and working in an industrial town, and able to communicate fluently in Hindi and English.
- Firm, fair and discreet, with the ability to set up systems where none exist.
