About the Group
Client is a growing automobile dealership group with interests across automotive retail, Hospitality, Real-estate and allied businesses. The Group is expanding through a combination of organic growth and current dealership opportunities.
We are looking for an experienced HR Manager to build and manage a scalable HR function across the Group.
The role will combine strategic HR, talent acquisition, employee engagement, performance management, learning &
development, HR operations and organisation building.
The ideal candidate should understand that dealership success is highly dependent on the quality, productivity and retention of frontline teams.
Key Responsibilities
1. Group HR Strategy Develop and implement the Group's HR strategy aligned with business growth.
Establish standardised HR policies and processes across dealerships.
Build HR systems that can scale as new dealerships and businesses are added.
Partner with management and dealership heads on organisation design and manpower planning.
Develop HR dashboards and people metrics for management review.
Support the Group in building a strong employer brand.
2. Manpower Planning Develop dealership-wise manpower plans based on business requirements.
Plan manpower across Sales, Service, Parts and Corporate / Support.
Ensure the right headcount, skill mix and manpower cost for each business unit.
3. Talent Acquisition Own recruitment for the Group, particularly for critical and leadership positions.
Responsibilities include
Develop recruitment strategy and annual hiring plans.
Build talent pipelines for dealership positions.
Develop employee referral programmes.
Build a strong candidate database for future requirements.
Manage end-to-end recruitment - to sourcing to Interviews to Joining and onboarding. Maintain clear time-to-hire and cost-per-hire metrics.
1. Onboarding & Induction Create a structured Group-level onboarding programme. Every employee should understand Group, OEM / brand, KRAs,
KPIs, Processes, HR policies and Career path
2. Performance Management Design and implement a structured performance management system. Define measurable KRAs and KPIs for different functions. Conduct Monthly performance reviews, Quarterly performance discussions and Annual appraisals
3. Compensation & Incentives Develop competitive and performance-linked compensation structures. Ensure incentives encourage the right business behaviour, rather than simply increasing volumes.
4. Learning & Development Build a structured learning ecosystem for dealership employees. Training areas may include Sales Product knowledge,
customer handling, technical skills for the service team.
5. Employee Engagement & Retention Build an environment that improves employee engagement and reduces avoidable attrition. Responsibilities include
Employee engagement initiatives, Periodic employee feedback, Employee recognition programmes, Career progression frameworks, Rewards and recognition, Employee communication, Exit interviews and Attrition analysis.
Identify the reasons behind frontline attrition and work with business heads to address them.
6. HR Operations & Compliance Own day-to-day HR operations across the Group.
Responsibilities include Employee records, Attendance, Leave, Payroll coordination, Joining and exit formalities,
Employee documentation, HRIS, Employee database,
Full & final settlement, Grievance handling
Ensure compliance with applicable labour laws and statutory requirements like PF, ESI, Professional Tax, Gratuity, Bonus,
Shops & Establishments requirements, POSH, Applicable state labour regulations. Coordinate with external consultants where required.
7. HR Technology, Automation and Analytics Drive the adoption of technology in HR. Implement appropriate systems recruitment and performance management.
Build a single source of truth for Group employee data.
Develop a management HR dashboard covering Total headcount, Manpower cost, Attrition, Hiring pipeline, Employee productivity, Training hours, Internal promotions
Provide management with actionable insights rather than only reports.
8. Organisation Culture Help establish a common Group culture while respecting individual dealership / OEM requirements. Build a culture where employees understand the connection between their individual role and dealership business performance.
9. Employee Relations Act as the first point of escalation for employee-related issues.
Maintain healthy employee-management relationships.
Handle grievances fairly and confidentially.
Support management in disciplinary processes.
Ensure consistent application of HR policies.
Maintain appropriate documentation for employee relations matters.
Ideal Candidate Profile
Must Have
MBA / PGDM in HR or equivalent.
812 years of HR experience.
Strong experience in automobile dealerships, automotive retail, retail, hospitality or other frontline-intensive businesses.
Experience managing blue-collar, frontline and managerial workforce.
Strong recruitment experience.
Experience in performance management and employee engagement.
Good knowledge of Indian labour laws and statutory compliance.
Experience working directly with business heads / promoters.
