Emmer Bakery Café is an established all-day café and bakery in Koregaon Park, Pune, operating for over eight years. Our kitchen is built around fresh, in-house production: sourdough and crackers baked daily, stone-ground emmer and ragi flour, and sauces, pesto, hummus, pickles and dressings made from scratch with no preservatives.

We are hiring an experienced Sous Chef or Head Chef to lead our kitchen. The role suits a chef who can run production independently, maintain consistent quality across a busy service, and manage and train a kitchen team. Final title and pay will be set according to your experience and the level at which you have worked previously.

Responsibilities

- Lead daily kitchen production and service across the savory and continental menu, including sandwiches, crepes, pasta, bowls, soups and brunch items
- Maintain recipe consistency, portioning and plating standards
- Plan daily and weekly prep, and manage production schedules with the pastry section
- Manage kitchen inventory, ordering and stock control; keep food cost and wastage within targets
- Supervise, train and schedule kitchen staff
- Enforce hygiene, food safety and FSSAI-aligned practices, including daily and weekly kitchen checklists




- Work closely with front-of-house and management to keep service smooth
- Contribute to menu development and seasonal specials

Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of professional kitchen experience, including at least 2 years as a sous chef, chef de partie or section lead. This is mandatory.
- For Head Chef level: 8+ years of experience, including prior kitchen leadership
- Solid background in continental / western cuisine; café, bistro or all-day dining experience preferred
- Proven ability to run a kitchen or major section independently
- Working knowledge of food safety, hygiene standards and food costing
- Diploma or degree in culinary arts or hotel management preferred
