We work across Marathwada, Western Maharashtra, Vidarbha and Mumbai, including a 100-acre biodiversity park built jointly with the Social Forestry, Police, Revenue and Irrigation departments and a 165,000-tree plantation project. We are now becoming a professionally governed nature and climate institution, with a Board, CEO, functional divisions, regional offices and a transparent monitoring platform. This is one of the first senior hires in that transition.

Why This Role Exists NowMaharashtra’s 300-crore-tree mission, set up by the 7 May 2026 GR that created the Green Maharashtra Commission, sets a physical target rather than one fixed budget. Funding is expected to converge from DPC/DPDC, a 0.5% departmental programme provision, MGNREGA, CAMPA, CSR, PPP and carbon or Green Credit mechanisms.

Every Zilla

Parishad, municipal corporation and forest division now needs credible implementing partners who can plant, maintain and prove survival, and few combine ecological credibility with government-facing capability.

The mandate: turn this window into sanctioned projects, MoUs, work orders and CSR agreements, district by district. This is a full-cycle closing role, not lead generation. You will be measured on funded project value secured and money received, not meetings held.

Key Responsibilities1. Opportunity Mapping• Build a Maharashtra-wide target list of Zilla Parishads, municipal bodies, forest and social forestry divisions, development authorities, universities, PSUs and corporate CSR teams.

- Map three roles per target: the signatory with financial authority, the technical owner who writes the specification,

and the sponsor who wants the project to happen.
- Identify the funding line for each opportunity: DPC/DPDC, MGNREGA convergence, CAMPA, compensatory plantation, ULB revenue, Schedule VII CSR or corporate ESG.
- Generate meetings through formal proposals, departmental presentations and partner referrals. Re-engage transferred officers within thirty days.

2. Government Engagement• Meet Collectors, ZP CEOs, Municipal Commissioners, Forest Officers and University Registrars, and tailor your pitch: delivery and convergence for administrators, compliance for municipal bodies, survival data for forest departments.

- Present our track record and per-tree costs accurately. Never overstate survival figures or claim carbon credit eligibility before it is verified and certified.
- Host site visits to our Devrais and parks, and keep acknowledged written records of every interaction, defensible under audit and RTI.

3. CSR and Corporate Partnerships• Design Schedule VII-aligned CSR proposals, including multi-year plantation and maintenance projects, across manufacturing, automotive, pharma, IT, banking, infrastructure, real estate and energy.

- Package sponsorable products such as employee plantation days, Adopt-a-Devrai and One Company–One Forest, with transparent cost and impact per tree.
- Manage the CSR cycle from MoU to utilisation and impact reporting to renewal, working with our monitoring team.

4. Tenders, Empanelment and Grants• Track and respond to tenders, EOIs and empanelment calls on state, ZP, ULB and GeM portals, including bids, EMD and performance security.

- Prepare grant applications for government schemes, foundations and climate funds, and pursue MoUs and multi-year rate contracts over one-off projects.

5. Closing,

Collections and Reporting• Drive each file through technical sanction, administrative approval and committee stages, negotiate terms within pricing guardrails, and secure the work order or MoU.

- Track bills through to payment release. The sale is not complete until the money arrives.
- Keep a live CRM with five mandatory fields: signatory, technical owner, sponsor, funding source, and procurement or grant route. Submit weekly pipeline reports and a monthly forecast review.

What We’re Looking ForEssential• 4–8 years in government relations, institutional fundraising, CSR partnerships or B2G sales, with a record of closing funded projects, not just supporting them.

- At least one closed engagement with a government body or CSR partner, and the ability to narrate the file journey from first meeting to sanction.
- Understanding of how government files, budgets and approvals move, and why fiscal-year timing matters.
- Working knowledge of CSR under the Companies Act and Schedule VII, and of tenders and e-procurement including GeM.
- Fluency in Marathi and English with strong formal writing. Hindi is helpful.
- Willingness to travel 40–50% across Maharashtra, including district and taluka locations.

Strongly Preferred• Background in environment, forestry, climate, water or rural development, and existing ties with district administration or CSR heads in Maharashtra.

- Knowledge of CAMPA, MGNREGA convergence, the Green Credit Programme and carbon standards, with the judgement to separate verified opportunities from unproven claims.

A forestry degree is not required. Our ecology and field teams handle technical design.

What We Offer• Compensation: fixed pay plus incentive linked to funds secured and collected.

- The chance to help build a professionally governed environmental institution at the start of a state-scale plantation mission.

To apply: DM me a brief note on one government or CSR deal you personally closed, from the first meeting through to final payment.
