About the Role
Our client, a deep-tech space startup, is building a next-generation global LEO-PNT (Positioning, Navigation, and Timing) satellite constellation from India. They're looking for a highly motivated GNSS Receiver Engineer to join their core team.
In this role, you will design, simulate, test, and optimize new LEO-PNT signals, and develop GNSS receiver functions such as acquisition, tracking, and decoding to generate accurate PVT outputs. You'll work where signal design, system engineering, and performance validation meet, making sure the system holds up against noise, Doppler, and interference. You'll use SDR tools like GNU Radio and MATLAB to build and evaluate receiver performance, and your work will feed directly into the core architecture of the constellation.
Key Responsibilities
Design and validate advanced GNSS/PNT signal structures for LEO satellites
Implement GNSS receiver blocks: acquisition, tracking, and navigation message decoding
Develop and optimize PLL, DLL, and FLL tracking loops
Perform Doppler search and code phase estimation
Simulate and analyze signal performance under multipath, interference, and jamming conditions
Validate acquisition, tracking, and decoding algorithms, and optimize them for compatibility and interoperability
Work with hardware, mission design, and GNSS teams to integrate signal design into payload and receiver platforms
Support prototype implementation and testing, including software receivers, SDRs, and hardware-in-the-loop setups
Stay updated on global GNSS and LEO-PNT advancements, standards, and regulations
Required Skills & Experience
Strong knowledge of signal processing for GNSS receivers
Hands-on experience with acquisition and tracking algorithms
Proficiency in MATLAB, Python, or C/C++
Understanding of modulation techniques (BPSK, QPSK, BOC)
Familiarity with SDR tools like GNU Radio and Octave
Ability to process IQ data and build receiver pipelines
Knowledge of performance metrics (C/N₀, SNR, tracking accuracy)
Good to Have
Prior work on GNSS/PNT signal processing and knowledge of LEO-PNT systems
Experience in SDR implementation and real-time receiver development
Knowledge of error correction coding, interference mitigation, and anti-jamming/anti-spoofing techniques
Experience with hardware testing and validation, FPGA/DSP implementations, or software-defined receivers
Ability to debug the full pipeline: Signal → Acquisition → Tracking → PVT
Comfort working across signal design, system architecture, and hardware teams
Why This Role
Build the future of global navigation. Work on a mission that changes how the world connects, navigates, and operates.
Be part of the founding journey. Shape the architecture of a global satellite constellation from the ground up, working directly with the founding team.
Learn from senior advisors. Engage with industry experts who bring decades of experience.
High impact, high ownership. Your work directly shapes real-world systems that demand precision, security, and scale.
Work with a solid team. Collaborate with experts in astrodynamics, signal processing, embedded systems, and mission operations.
Grow with the mission. As the constellation scales, so do your opportunities for leadership and long-term growth.
