The American Express Global Financial Crimes Compliance (GFCC) function provides second-line policy, framework, oversight and control solutions to meet the Company’s legal, regulatory and risk management mandates in connection with Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Counter Terrorism Financing (CTF), Sanctions, and Anti-Bribery and Corruption. The GFCC portfolio comprises all aspects of the Company’s first and second-line financial crime risk management (FCRM) activities, including all lines of businesses in the United States and both proprietary and non-proprietary global markets.

- 2+ years of experience in reporting, analytics, business intelligence, or data management; experience within Financial Crimes, Compliance, Risk, or another regulated environment is preferred.
- Demonstrated proficiency in SQL and/or other data querying languages, with the ability to extract, join, reconcile, validate, and analyze data from multiple sources to identify trends, anomalies, and business insights.
- Hands-on experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau, with a strong understanding of dashboard design and the ability to translate complex data into clear, intuitive, and actionable visualizations.
- Strong analytical curiosity and problem-solving skills, with demonstrated ability to investigate data anomalies, perform root-cause analysis, identify performance drivers, and translate findings into meaningful insights and recommendations.
- Strong attention to detail and a disciplined approach to data validation, reconciliation, documentation, quality controls, and reporting accuracy, with an understanding of the importance of data lineage and metric consistency.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills,



with the ability to understand stakeholder needs, communicate analytical findings clearly, and translate complex information into effective reports, visuals, and presentations for business and leadership audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to independently own reporting and analytical deliverables, manage competing priorities, meet deadlines, and collaborate effectively with stakeholders and cross-functional teams in a global environment.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including PivotTables, Power Query, and data transformation or automation capabilities; proficiency in PowerPoint required. Experience with reporting automation or other analytical technologies is beneficial.
- Ability and willingness to develop a strong understanding of GFCC programs, investigative processes, and operational performance; prior Financial Crimes experience is beneficial but not required.
- Bachelor’s degree required.
