Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role based in Bengaluru for a Gemology Faculty member.

The faculty member will conduct classroom and laboratory sessions covering gemstone identification, properties, testing techniques, grading, treatments, and related gemology topics. The role involves delivering concepts in a clear, practical, and engaging manner while providing students with hands-on experience using gemological instruments and laboratory equipment.

Responsibilities include preparing lesson plans and teaching materials, conducting practical demonstrations, creating and evaluating assignments and examinations, maintaining student performance records, and mentoring students on academic and career pathways.

The faculty member will also support workshops, study tours, industry visits, exhibitions, and academic events, while working with the academic team to update curriculum and align teaching with current industry practices.

Qualifications





- Robust knowledge of gemology, gemstones, and current industry trends
- Practical knowledge of gemstone identification and testing techniques
- Ability to handle and demonstrate the use of gemological instruments and laboratory equipment
- Strong teaching and training skills, including classroom instruction and student mentoring
- Formal education or certification in Gemology or a related field from a recognized institute
- Teaching/training experience in gemology or relevant industry experience that can be translated into classroom learning
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
- Knowledge of a regional language is an added advantage
- Ability to use basic digital tools for presentations, online resources, and academic documentation
- Passion for learner-centered teaching, practical education, ethical industry practices, and continuous professional development
