We're looking for a passionate Game Developer to help build Bharath JnanaYatra, a project that bridges ancient Indian wisdom with modern interactive experiences. Success in this role looks like translating cultural and philosophical concepts into engaging, playable game mechanics that resonate with a modern audience. This is a foundational role — you'll be shaping the core gameplay and creative direction of the product from its earliest stage, working closely with the founder to bring the vision to life.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop core game mechanics that reflect the project's theme of ancient wisdom and contemporary living
- Build prototypes to test and validate gameplay concepts and user experience
- Collaborate on the overall creative and narrative direction of the game
- Ensure the game is intuitive and accessible for a broad, general audience
- Optimize game performance across target platforms
- Iterate on designs based on feedback from playtesting and early users
- Document design decisions and development processes for future team members
Qualifications
- Experience with a game engine such as Unity or Unreal Engine
- A strong portfolio demonstrating prior game development or design work
- Ability to work independently in an early-stage, resource-constrained setting
- Genuine interest in Indian culture, philosophy, or heritage is a strong plus
- Comfortable working remotely and asynchronously with a small team
