Job Summary The Transaction Screening Analyst is responsible for reviewing customer transactions to identify potential financial crime and AML risks before transactions are processed. The role requires conducting detailed investigations, applying risk-based decision-making, and ensuring all transactions comply with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and established screening thresholds. The analyst is expected to demonstrate strong analytical thinking, investigative skills, and sound judgment while identifying suspicious payment patterns and mitigating financial crime risks.

Key Responsibilities

- Review and assess customer transactions to determine whether they should be approved, rejected, or escalated based on established screening rules, risk thresholds, and regulatory requirements

- Identify and assess AML typologies, including Fast In Fast Out (FIFO), Money Mule activity, layering, and other suspicious financial crime patterns

- Conduct detailed investigations using internal systems and open-source intelligence (OSINT) to gather relevant information and support transaction decisions

- Analyze transaction frequency, value, customer behavior, and payment patterns to identify potential financial crime risks

- Investigate and establish relationships between counterparties through data analysis and available intelligence





- Differentiate between first-party and third-party payments and assess the associated AML and fraud risks

- Apply strong critical thinking and sound judgment to make accurate, risk-based decisions while maintaining compliance with AML policies and regulatory standards

- Document investigation findings and rationale clearly to ensure audit readiness and regulatory compliance

- Stay updated on emerging AML typologies, sanctions, fraud trends, and financial crime risks

Required Skills & Competencies

- Strong analytical, critical thinking, and investigative skills

- Sound judgment and decision-making abilities in a risk-based environment

- Knowledge of AML principles, financial crime typologies, and transaction screening processes

- Understanding of Fast In Fast Out (FIFO), Money Mule activity, first-party and third-party payments, and other AML risk indicators

- Ability to conduct open-source research (OSINT) to support investigations

- Strong attention to detail and ability to identify suspicious transaction patterns

- Excellent written communication and case documentation skills

- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, compliance-driven setting while meeting productivity and quality targets
