Position: Founder’s Office Associate (0–2 years)

Sigma Chambers - Uday Park, South Ex, South Delhi

Role: Founder’s Office Associate | Business Development, Thought Leadership and Strategic Projects

Role OverviewSigma Chambers is looking for a high-agency and commercially curious Associate to work directly with the Partner on the firm’s growth and strategic priorities. This is a broad generalist role with meaningful responsibility from the outset. It suits someone who enjoys unfamiliar problems, learns quickly and is willing to do the groundwork required to move an idea forward.

The work will span business development, thought leadership, investor and ecosystem engagement, and time-bound strategy projects. Priorities will change as the firm grows. The candidate should be equally comfortable developing an outreach plan, researching a market or investor, coordinating a collaboration, turning legal and industry knowledge into clear content, and following through until the project is complete. This role will not involve client deliverables.

Key Responsibilities

- Business development and growth: Lead and support business-development workstreams, including sector and account research, opportunity mapping, outreach preparation, proposals, follow-ups and pipeline development.
- Market and opportunity research: Research industries, companies, founders, investors and emerging business models; convert scattered information into concise briefs, priorities and practical next steps.
- Relationships and collaborations: Identify and develop relationships with founders, investors, industry bodies, academic institutions, consultants and other ecosystem participants; coordinate meetings, collaborations and follow-through.
- Investor and transaction ecosystem: Support investor-facing initiatives, founder–investor connections and investment-banking-related projects through targeted research, preparation, coordination and disciplined tracking.

- Content and thought leadership: Develop and manage articles, law briefs, newsletters, event material and other knowledge assets; conduct source-led research and help convert the firm’s expertise into useful, credible content.
- Strategic projects: Work on varied projects relating to new services, products, partnerships, events, research programmes, knowledge systems and firm-building priorities; bring structure to open-ended assignments and take them from concept to execution.
- Project execution and systems: Maintain clear plans, trackers, timelines, owners and follow-ups; improve recurring workflows and ensure that decisions translate into completed work.
- AI-enabled research and delivery: Use AI and modern work tools responsibly to improve research, writing, analysis and coordination while verifying outputs, protecting confidentiality and exercising independent judgment.

Candidate Requirements

- Fresh graduates and candidates with up to two years of relevant experience may apply. A law degree is preferred, but exceptional candidates from business, economics, public policy or related backgrounds will also be considered.
- Demonstrated drive and initiative through internships, independent projects, competitions, societies, volunteering, entrepreneurship, publications or other work beyond the minimum academic curriculum.
- Strong research and analytical ability, with the judgment to identify reliable sources, extract what matters and present it clearly.
- Strong written and spoken communication, including the ability to prepare concise briefs, outreach material,

proposals and publishable first drafts.
- Interest in technology, startups, professional services, business development, investors and emerging industries; willingness to understand unfamiliar sectors quickly.
- Ability to manage multiple workstreams, stakeholders and deadlines without losing track of details or follow-ups.
- Practical comfort with AI, document, presentation, research, CRM and project-management tools, with appropriate verification and confidentiality.
- Ability to work full-time from the firm’s South Delhi office and remain responsive when a priority project requires additional availability.

Working Style

- High-agency and execution-focused: starts with the available information, finds a practical route, does the groundwork and keeps momentum.
- Commercially curious and resourceful: asks good questions, understands the objective and looks beyond the obvious source or contact.
- Adaptable generalist: moves comfortably between research, writing, outreach, coordination and execution as priorities change.
- Dependable and detail-conscious: communicates early, maintains clean records and follows through on commitments.
- Team-oriented and low-ego: works well with partners, lawyers, interns and external stakeholders and is willing to contribute wherever the project needs support.

What Success Looks Like

- Business-development workstreams move from research to outreach and follow-up with clear ownership and reliable execution.
- Thought-leadership output is accurate, well structured, useful and ready for review with limited rework.
- Strategic projects progress from an open-ended brief to a workable plan and completed outcome.
- Stakeholder interactions are well prepared, professional and followed through consistently.
- The firm gains better information, stronger relationships and more reliable systems because of the candidate’s work.
