1. Job Purpose To lead and execute the development, optimization, scale-up and technology transfer of syrup and oral liquid formulations, including Ayurvedic, herbal and nutraceutical products, from laboratory development through pilot and commercial manufacturing.

2. Key Responsibilities

- Develop new syrups, oral solutions, oral suspensions and other liquid dosage forms from concept to commercialization.
- Select and optimize suitable active ingredients, herbal extracts, sweeteners, preservatives, flavours, colours, viscosity modifiers, solubilizers, suspending agents and other excipients.
- Develop sugar-based, sugar-free and low-calorie syrup formulations.
- Work on formulations containing herbal extracts, botanical actives, Bhasmas, vitamins, minerals, amino acids and other functional ingredients.
- Address formulation challenges such as poor solubility, precipitation, crystallization, sedimentation, phase separation, colour change and incompatibility.
- Optimize pH, viscosity, specific gravity, Brix, preservative concentration and microbial stability.




- Conduct compatibility studies between active ingredients, herbal extracts and excipients.
- Work closely with Production, QA, QC, Engineering and Packaging development teams.

3. Candidate Profile

- Experience: 3–8 years in formulation development, preferably with significant hands-on experience in syrups/oral liquids.
- Education: M. Pharma / M.Sc. /Ph.D./ relevant qualification.
- Strong practical understanding of liquid dosage-form development.
- Valuable scientific and analytical problem-solving ability.
- Experience in documentation and technical report preparation.
- Ability to independently plan formulation trials and interpret results.
- Good understanding of GMP and pharmaceutical/herbal manufacturing practices.
- Solid coordination skills with production and quality functions.
- Reduction in development and scale-up timelines.
- Successful resolution of manufacturing and stability problems.
