Key Responsibilities

Installation and Deployment

- Install, splice, terminate, and test fiber optic cables.

- Conduct site surveys to determine the optimal placement of fiber optic infrastructure.

- Set up and configure fiber optic equipment, including routers, switches, and related hardware.

- Ensure compliance with industry standards and safety protocols during installation.

Maintenance and Troubleshooting

- Perform routine maintenance on fiber optic networks to ensure optimal performance.

- Diagnose and repair fiber optic faults, including cuts, bends, and other forms of damage.

- Use testing equipment such as OTDRs, power meters, and light sources to identify and resolve network issues.

Documentation and Reporting

- Maintain accurate records of all installation and maintenance activities.

- Prepare detailed reports on network performance, faults, and repairs.

- Update network diagrams and documentation to reflect changes and upgrades.

- Customer Support

- Provide technical support and guidance to customers experiencing issues with their fiber optic connections.





- Work closely with the customer service team to resolve network-related issues promptly and efficiently.

- Conduct customer site visits when necessary to address and resolve technical problems.

Team Collaboration and Development

- Collaborate with network engineers, planners, and other technical staff to ensure seamless integration and operation of fiber optic networks.

- Stay updated on the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices.

- Participate in ongoing training and development programs to enhance technical skills and knowledge.

Qualifications

- Education: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.

- Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in fiber optic installation and maintenance, preferably within an ISP workplace.
