Rishihood University's School of Design is looking for a Full time Faculty member to lead its B.Des in User Experience and Interaction Design (UXID), a 4-year, industry-aligned program built to prepare designers for the technology landscape they will graduate into. The program combines rigorous design education with close attention to how the industry is evolving, so that students graduate ready for real professional practice.

This is an academic role that combines academic ownership with hands-on program building. You will work on curriculum design, prepare students for design competitions, mentor students through their learning journey, and represent the program to institutional leadership. It suits someone who enjoys both the craft of teaching and the work of building a program.

What You'll Own

- Academic Standards & Delivery: Ensure that course delivery, evaluation methods, and pedagogy stay current with industry practice and design education benchmarks. You will make sure what happens in the classroom reflects how design is practised today and holds up against the best programs in the field.
- Student Programming: Shape the student experience beyond the classroom. This includes designing onboarding and orientation, running cohort programming that builds community and momentum, and creating meaningful ways to recognise student achievement.
- Institutional Communication:



Represent the program to academic leadership, including the Dean and the Board of Studies. You will act as the primary point of accountability for program outcomes, communicating progress, challenges, and results clearly and confidently.
- Industry Alignment: Keep the curriculum benchmarked against leading design programs (e.g. CMU, SVA, RISD, and top Indian design schools) and emerging practice areas such as AI for UX, service design, and systems design. You will help the program evolve with the technology landscape rather than trail behind it.

Requirements

What We're Looking For
- A strong practitioner and educator background in UI/UX, Interaction Design, and design research methodology, with the ability to bring both real-world practice and sound pedagogy into the classroom.
- Experience designing or significantly contributing to a design curriculum, ideally at the undergraduate level, including structuring courses, learning outcomes, and evaluation methods.
- The ability to balance creative and pedagogical vision with administrative rigour, so that good ideas are followed through into well-run courses and a well-run program.

Eligibility Criteria
- Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Design (or a closely related discipline).
- Experience: Minimum 3 years of relevant professional and/or teaching experience.
