About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and decisive Factory Head to take complete operational ownership of our multi-process manufacturing unit with a workforce of ~300 employees and an annual turnover responsibility of ~₹80 Cr.

This facility specializes in board-based furniture and metal/fabricated products with an in-house powder coating line. As the senior-most operational leader at the plant, you will manage six functional department heads and report directly to the Director, holding end-to-end single-point accountability for production output, on-time dispatch (OTD), product quality, EHS/safety, operating costs, and overall plant discipline.

Key Responsibilities

- Production Planning & Execution: Translate monthly sales and dispatch plans into weekly/daily production schedules across board processing, metal fabrication, powder coating, and packing. Eliminate floor bottlenecks to maximize throughput.
- On-Time Dispatch (OTD): Own customer delivery commitments as a primary metric. Track order status from material cutting to final dispatch, flagging and mitigating schedule risks early.
- Quality & Product Rollout: Ensure products meet technical specifications across all processes (board and metal fabrication, powder coating adhesion/thickness to IS standards). Coordinate new product introductions (NPI) into production without disrupting current output.
- Safety & EHS Compliance:



Foster a zero-incident safety culture across all departments, including safe chemical and fuel handling. Ensure complete statutory compliance with the Factories Act.
- Continuous Improvement (Lean / TPM / 5S): Implement structured continuous improvement tools (5S, Kaizen, TPM, Lean) to drive up OEE, reduce cycle times, control scrap, and optimize productivity.
- Capex & Capacity Planning: Scope, justify, and execute capex projects (line upgrades, new machinery, layout changes) on time and within budget to support long-term growth targets.
- People & Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and hold accountable six functional department heads (Board Furniture, Metal, Powder Coating, Packing, Stores, and Maintenance). Drive workforce multiskilling and maintain secure industrial/labor relations.
- Cost & Budget Control: Manage the plant's annual operating budget (manpower, utilities, consumables, and maintenance). Implement power, fuel, and raw material cost-reduction initiatives.
- Systems & Reporting: Run plant operations using Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central ERP and digital task-management tools. Provide regular operational MIS reporting to leadership.

Candidate Profile & Requirements

- Education: Degree or Diploma in Mechanical, Production, or Industrial Engineering. Additional qualifications in Operations Management are a plus.
- Experience: 20–25 years of progressive manufacturing experience, with significant time spent running factory floor operations in a senior leadership / full-unit ownership capacity.
- Industry Background: Strong preference for candidates from Furniture Manufacturing, Modular Furniture, Engineering Wood, Metal Fabrication, Auto Ancillaries, Consumer Durables, or White Goods.
- Functional Expertise: Hands-on knowledge across multi-process manufacturing (woodworking/board processing + metal fabrication + surface finishing/powder coating), PPC, EHS, plant maintenance, and inventory management.
- Systems: Working knowledge of modern ERP systems (SAP, Microsoft Dynamics Business Central, or equivalent) and digital project tools.
- Key Traits: High level of decisiveness, execution focus, problem-solving capability, and strong leadership skills.
