Role & responsibilities

- Lead daily fabrication, cutting, fit-up, and welding operations for heavy steel structures, storage silos, and equipment assemblies according to engineering drawings and production schedules.
- Supervise, allocate tasks to, and guide a team of fitters, certified welders, machine operators, and riggers to achieve daily production targets safely and efficiently.
- Ensure strict adherence to dimensional tolerances, surface preparation, fit-up inspections, and non-destructive testing (NDT) requirements in coordination with Quality Control.
- Enforce site safety rules, job safety analyses (JSA), tool-time briefings, proper PPE usage, and heavy-lifting protocols for overhead cranes and rigging.
- Oversee raw material usage (heavy plates, structural beams, pipes) to minimize scrap/rework. Ensure proper calibration and maintenance of welding machines, cutting equipment, and hydraulic presses.
- Collaborate closely with Planning, Estimation, Stores, and Quality teams to track project progress and resolve technical bottlenecks promptly.
- Plan and execute daily shift targets, job assignments, and throughput for heavy plate fabrication, cutting, fit-up, assembly, and welding.
- Ensure fit-up precision, structural integrity, NDT pass rates (UT/RT/MPI),



and compliance with customer specifications and international welding standards.
- Enforce a zero-injury culture through daily safety tool-box talks, heavy-lifting protocols (cranes/rigging), proper PPE compliance, and secure handling of hazardous shop operations.
- Control material wastage by strictly following nesting/cutting plans, minimizing scrap, eliminating rework, and monitoring consumable usage.
- Manage and mentor fitters, certified welders, machinists, and riggers; optimize man-hours and machine utilization while maintaining high shop-floor morale and discipline.

Preferred candidate profile To lead, supervise, and drive daily shop-floor manufacturing operations for heavy structural steel, storage silos, and heavy construction equipment assemblies. The primary objective is to execute production schedules on time and within budget while ensuring strict adherence to engineering drawings, welding quality codes (AWS/ASME), safety standards, dimensional accuracy, material yield efficiency, and optimal workforce productivity.
